What's nasty about it!!!!! :confused3 She's entitled to her opinion just like you are. I'm one who definitely sides with her.
Do you or do you not agree that they need help irrespective of race and irrespective of whether or not they have "been there" for the USA?

Let's get that out in the open first.

For the record: I do.

I called it a nasty post as it appeared to infer that these people had to qualify for help and - even worse - that they did not qualify.

IMO. the more people that died in this quake, the better. it was fertile ground for Jihaddists.

Most of these people are just trying to make a living and provide for their families. Most of them don't harbor any great hatred for anyone or anything. I'll be the first to admit that I care more about natural disasters at home than I do abroad. But what happened in Pakistan and India is a great tragedy and those people didn't "deserve" it.

Of course they need help but so don't millions of people right here in the USA.
The problem is we DO send help to other Nations and most of them hate Americans. We don't do enough for our own people. Shouldn't the people of this country come first before we help others? The USA has it's hands into everything. I personally feel that it is wrong. That's my own opinion. I say let some other countries help them out since we have enough problems right here on our own soil.

This has to be the most racist , hatefull and disgusting comment I have read on the Dis , and I mostly participate on the " political" threads !

I didn't say they 'deserved it'. but oh, well. hopefully one will hit Noth Korea next. people die every day due to natural disasters. if it cleans up areas that hate the USA, it's a bonus.

nothing is racist. 9/11 was fueled by people from this region.

Iwonder if "we" are suffering disaster fatigue. With the tsunami last year, the London and Spain bombings, the death tolls from Iraq, and the hurricanes last year and this year, we have had death and destruction in the news every day for the last couple of years.

Nicely said. I feel a bit numb to it all. 30,000 is unfathonable to me.
