Hucifer does the solo thing…sort of. Alone and going home, 9/21

I do the same thing with riding EE over and over. I think the only time we've been on it one time was when it first opened and things were just nuts. Usually, no matter how much I love a ride, once at a time is enough just because there is so much more to see. The best though, is late LATE night during MK EMH. Believe it or not, most people don't come to the Magic Kingdom at 2:30 AM. Almost no one. So they just let us sit and ride over and over again without even getting off no matter what attraction it was. Talk about magic. I felt like a kid in a candy store that night!

Just politely tell the little brat, er girl, to stop kicking the back of the seat. In a loud voice, so mama thinks you are hassling her little darling.
See, that's too confrontational for me. I'm more of a passive-aggressive type.

I'm not sure if it was Amanda or not, but I noticed the same thing with the EE queue. Some cast members really have it down to an art.
I'll bet it was her. She was the best ride queue person I've ever seen.

We really liked Nemo too. It was kind of difficult to take pictures, so of course I took a gazillion.
Looking forward to seeing them! I loved the Nemo show.

That never ending quest to find Russell again.
Busted.

What can I say? I love the creeps.

I never thought I would see the day...... :sad2:
Hey, I'm a good girl. At times.

Well maybe not the REST of us.....your ability to get lost on Disney property is legendary (almost on a level with the Yeti!)
True dat.

Sorta like a glennbo TR or PTR.
That is one popular dude, I'll give him that.

I thought you already did this part when you were wearing the scarf in Sci-Fi??? :confused3
Get ready for round two.

Hey...wait a minute...are you saying I looked like a fool the last time too?

Let it be noted... I am, right now, making a Tusker House reservation for our next big trip, on Hucifer's recommendation. :thumbsup2
I look forward to the review! You better try those samosas too...freaking awesome.

That is nice to know! Finally, after years of AK trips, I made it to the exit without a map and with only one detour. :rotfl:
I get so turned around and mixed up all the time there. It must be all that foliage there...it surrounds and confuses me.

Yay, more food! :woohoo: Do I need to get ready to change ADRs again? ;)
Ummm...no.

THAT sounds like heaven. I could ride that beast over and over and over again.

Oops. I better watch what I say around Glennbo and Marvin. That could be taken out of context.

Hey, I'm a good girl. At times.
I'm sure you DO require a certain amount of sleep....:scratchin

BTW, I believe you.....really I do!::yes::
Get ready for round two.

Hey...wait a minute...are you saying I looked like a fool the last time too?
:guilty:
THAT sounds like heaven. I could ride that beast over and over and over again.
Okay, maybe I DON'T believe you..... :sad2:
Oops. I better watch what I say around Glennbo and Marvin. That could be taken out of context.
Who? Us? No way....... :rolleyes1

Awesome update Hucifer!

Gotta love it when you find a CM who takes their job seriously and does it well. Glad you liked Nemo. That was my daughter's favorite thing of the entire trip.

Dang. Just after I posted on my thread how innocent I was.
Shoot, Glenn. That's a whole other thread. Totally doesn't count here.

Who? Us? No way....... :rolleyes1
Yes, YOU!

:sad1: I couldn't get an ADR for our AK day! I'll keep trying, though.
Yikes! Keep trying! It's worth it!

I think I totally saw Amanda in the EE line, too! Or someone equally as efficient and masterful!
Glad I'm not the only one to witness the grace and awe that is Amanda.

Glad you liked Nemo. That was my daughter's favorite thing of the entire trip.
Dare I say it? I think Nemo is my favorite show in WDW. Your daughter has great taste! ;)

Quoting you: Thanks to everyone who's been hanging in there.

I actually think a few people did hang themselves waiting.
I believe it. I've been terrible with updates.

Quoting you: I wasn't getting it from anyone else.

Well it was a solo trip.
All hail the mighty finger.

Quoting you: You know what I'm sayin'?

Not really. Maybe if there wasn’t three weeks between sentences I would.
Okay, No defense here. I totally deserved that.

Quoting you: “Do you mind if I tinkle?” before realizing that, silly me, I can go anytime I like. No need to ask permission.

Try that at the ‘50’s Prime Time.
Okay.
Gosh you give the best advice.

Quoting you: (Yes, these are the sort of things I write about in my trip report. Yes, you’re sorry you opened this thing.)

You writing about it is not nearly as disturbing as you observing it in the first place.
You couldn't miss it! Female feet facing the toilet is not something you see...ever!

Quoting you: I read an amazing dining review by some anonymous young vegan lady.

There are more of you????
Oh yes. And we're armed with lots of veggies. And corn. Beware.

Quoting you: Yes, this food blows

Make up your mind..did you like it or not?
Apparently not.

Quoting you: She sees my badge and asks if I’m a cast member too. It really does amaze me that this thing is fooling cast members.

Or maybe the amazing thing was she wasn’t a CM after all and actually fooled you. I mean, did you make her show you a phony badge as proof or did you just take her word?
It's called trust. You should try it sometime.

Quoting you: The cast member lady (I have no idea what her name is) mentions to me that, no matter how many times she comes to Animal Kingdom, she still needs a map. She gets as lost as the rest of us. So it wasn’t just me. This was nice to know.

Further proof she scammed you. I rest my case.
I was WONDERING where my wallet went. Dammit!

Quoting you: Nemo doesn’t disappoint.

Different strokes time (whatcha talking bout Willis?), I say bring back Tarzan Rocks.
Wha-wha-WHAT??? Are you drunk???
It should have been "Tarzan Blows"

Quoting you: What can I say? I love the creeps.

That’s why I keep coming back.
Lou
And that's why I love you so much, Louie.

*kiss*

Feeling like this was one hugely successful day of park touring, I head back to the lockers and get my clothes. I go into the bathroom and change into my dinner attire. I get my hundred thousand dollar deposit back and stroll out of the park. The Animal Kingdom Lodge bus picks me up and moments later I’m seated in Jiko, about thirty minutes earlier than my reservation.

The menu looks good today, especially this wacky shrimp dish that I’ve never eaten before. The waitress assures me that it is delicious, so it gets ordered.

I cannot believe, for as often as I helped others, for as appreciative as 99% of them were (stupid Dinosaur lady), that no one reciprocates the offer. I know they see me, stretching out my arm, straining my neck, and grinning at the camera as the flash illuminates my teeth. And here I am, in Jiko, arm stretched out as far as it will go, mad Chestshire Cat grin on my face, flash bulbs blinding me and those behind me. I do this several times. Yet no one offers. But here is one of the better shots I took:

WENDY.JPG

I think this photo really captures my inner beauty.

Finally I break down and ask the waitress if she would please take my picture.

The picture that she takes turns out crappy anyway, so I won’t bother posting it. But I force a smile, nod, and tell her it looks great. Cuz it’s only a lie if you don’t believe it.

The food arrives.

SUC51305.JPG

Ooooooh....pretty.

It looks beautiful and it is very flavorful. But the taste doesn’t wow me. It certainly doesn’t live up to my waitress’s praise. I chalk it up to personal taste, because it really had some complex and strong flavors that would normally please my palate. Just not today, I guess. When I’m finished with my meal, it’s still quite early…maybe seven o’clock or so.

SUC51311.JPG

I like the nightlife. I got to boogie.

I notice that it is raining a bit. But today seems like a great day to head over to Magic Kingdom. Sure, they’re having Extra Magic Hours tonight. But I have no expectations. I just want to walk around and absorb the atmosphere. Maybe take some family pictures.

Magic Kingdom is exactly what you would expect in the middle of the summer on a Extra Magic Hour evening. Crazy busy. Actually, I swear that I’ve seen it busier in October, but it was still pretty busy. I wander around, noting that the wait times for most rides us around an hour or so. Peter Pan is 70 minutes. No problem, I didn’t come to ride anything, really. I walk over to Splash Mountain. Who knew that there was a bridge on the other side of the big hill where you can watch people get splashed at the bottom? Okay, you can all put your hands down. Obviously I didn’t. I park myself there and watch boat after boat splash down. People inside the boats have one expression: pure joy. You can’t help but feel happy when watching this. It suddenly becomes my favorite pastime. The best splashdowns are the folks that don’t expect to get wet…and then get soaked. Their faces are priceless. I swear I must have stood on that bridge for thirty, forty minutes. It was so much fun I didn’t want to leave.

Eventually I do pull myself away from the bridge. I am ready to go back to the resort.

Easier said than done.

After finding the POFQ bus stop, I wait. And wait. The line is filling up, person by person. And then…someone in a wheelchair pulls up. And we wait. And…a person in an ECV pulls up. And we wait. And finally, the bus arrives.

My feet are killing me at this point, but we have more waiting to do. They, of course, have to load the handicapped folks on first. I hear a groan from the lady next to me. I can’t blame her. While you can’t be mad at the folks who need the wheels, I tend to get irritated at Disney for not making more sophisticated methods to get this equipment on the bus in an efficient manner. We stood for another eight minutes or so while we waited for the handicapped folks to get on the bus, for the chairs to get on the bus, for the chairs to get locked into place, and to get the bus “other folk” ready. The process is pretty slow and clumsy. When the second woman, after getting loaded into the bus, got out of her seat, we see her literally hop up the bus stairs and into a seat. The groaning lady next to me was beside herself. “Did you see that?” she asked her family member. “She jumped up the stairs. Can you believe her?” She was furious.

I was just tired. Get me home, bus. I would even settle for my resort room.

Day 8: Too much of a good thing
Part 1. Never berate a bear.

I think this photo really captures my inner beauty.

What, no scarf?

The picture that she takes turns out crappy anyway, so I won’t bother posting it. But I force a smile, nod, and tell her it looks great. Cuz it’s only a lie if you don’t believe it.

I know exactly what you mean. But on our last trip, after a park guest took a crappy picture of us I asked him to retake it! The second one was only slightly better. I gave up at that point.

I like the nightlife. I got to boogie.

"On the disco <unintelligible lyric> oh yeah."

And then…someone in a wheelchair pulls up. And we wait. And…a person in an ECV pulls up. And we wait. And finally, the bus arrives.

I am so with you on this one. When I'm waiting for a Disney bus and a person on an ECV joins the line, I'm torn between feeling sorry for them and exclaiming a major "DOH!". I know it's going to add another 10 minutes.

Part 1. Never berate a bear.

I wonder what they did to you. ;)

Wow! After seeing your self portrait... we look (almost) exactly alike!! I can't believe the resemblance!!! Holy cow! The biggest difference is that I am in blue ink and you're black ink... unreal! :lmao: :lmao:

As far as the ECVs... They should have to get into the line and wait their turn. The last time my DH and I were at MK... there were a couple of ECVs that came as the bus pulled up and they got on immediately! Those 2 ladies on ECVs not only took up 8 seats with their vehicles... they got OFF the vehicles and took 2 more seats! That's 10... count them... 10 seats! They LAUGHED (literally) at us outside waiting. Needless to say, we had to wait for 2 more buses before we got on one. :sad2:

Feeling like this was one hugely successful day of park touring, I head back to the lockers and get my clothes.
It's hard to believe it would get chilly this time of year, but I guess a scarf can only do so much.
I get my hundred thousand dollar deposit back and stroll out of the park.
Where did you happen to find the "cheap" lockers??? :confused3
I know they see me, stretching out my arm, straining my neck, and grinning at the camera as the flash illuminates my teeth. And here I am, in Jiko, arm stretched out as far as it will go, mad Chestshire Cat grin on my face,
Arm flab dangling down.....:rolleyes1
(Maybe that's what kept anyone from offering to help you out)
Finally I break down and ask the waitress if she would please take my picture.
Or it could have been the breakdown....:)
I chalk it up to personal taste,
Or possibly lack thereof.......you Russell chaser!;)
I just want to walk around and absorb the atmosphere.
They call that humidity where I come from......
I swear I must have stood on that bridge for thirty, forty minutes. It was so much fun I didn’t want to leave.
My feet are killing me at this point, but we have more waiting to do.
Not 100% certain, but I'm betting there's a clue in there somewhere.....
Part 1. Never berate a bear.
Are you supposed to rate them an "A" or a "C" instead???
But on our last trip, after a park guest took a crappy picture of us I asked him to retake it!
We already had this discussion about pictures taken BY glennbo, and those taken by others......:rolleyes1
"On the disco <unintelligible lyric> oh yeah."
It is actually

I LOVE the nightlife, I got to boogie, on the disco 'round, oh yeah......

(and don't worry, I had to use the internet for that one, or I would have had to use <unintelligible lyric> too!) :lmao:

Hey Hucifer! Nifty update!

You photo turned out real nice. Just like I always pictured you. I'm sure the surprised look on the face of those folks coming down Splash might have had more to do with seeing a live stick figure on the bridge than with getting wet.

I cannot believe, for as often as I helped others, for as appreciative as 99% of them were (stupid Dinosaur lady), that no one reciprocates the offer.
I KNOW! :sad2: I'm like you - I frequently offer to take pics of families, solo travelers, couples, you name it. Only once in 20 years has a stranger offered to do the same for me.

SUC51305.JPG

Ooooooh....pretty.
Ooo, it is! :yay:

It looks beautiful and it is very flavorful. But the taste doesn’t wow me. It certainly doesn’t live up to my waitress’s praise.
Darn! Darn, darn, darn. I'm all worked up because Jiko is one of the few WDW eateries left that I still love! I'm sad that that didn't blow you away. :sad1:

Magic Kingdom is exactly what you would expect in the middle of the summer on a Extra Magic Hour evening. Crazy busy.
Okay, you need to come back to my TR. What a difference a year makes! Or maybe it was just the day. All I know is I got talked into a July MK EMH one night and it wasn't bad at all! I was so surprised!

Who knew that there was a bridge on the other side of the big hill where you can watch people get splashed at the bottom?
 :rotfl:

I'm sure the surprised look on the face of those folks coming down Splash might have had more to do with seeing a live stick figure on the bridge than with getting wet.

Actually, this was a very important piece of wisdom I received on my wedding day, while ancily waiting for the ceremony to start: pee backwards. Turns out it makes it makes it much easier to keep your wedding dress out of the way! But I assume the woman in the stall next to yours wasn't wearing a wedding gown?

And c'mon, hucifer, don't sell yourself short. Weren't you dressed up a bit, for the AKL nightlife and all? Here's how I picture you, with a little more flair appropriate to the occasion:

:scared1: Isn't there a women's forum where this kind of information can be dispensed (and avoided by men)?

That's great Nory! (Can you just add the scarf?)

That's great Nory! (Can you just add the scarf?)

Oh no, how could I forget the scarf? (Actually, to be honest, suddenly there were these scarf references, and I kinda missed their origin. Guess I skimmed through that part? Describe it to me -- and really, I think the more flamboyant the better, we have to accurately capture hucifer's style, don'tcha think? -- and I'll add it in!)

It started with her post at the top of page 27. In it there's a picture of her at Sci-Fi and she appears to be sans-clothes except for something around her neck, which is probably probably not even a scarf at all, but part of her top...we didn't let that stop us. After that there were lots of scarf and nekkidness references.
