We are heading to WDW in October of this year. We have been many times and have always stuck to WDW.
This trip my DH is asking if we can do a day at SeaWorld. We will be there for 8 days, so there is time to fit it in.
I have two questions for those of you who have done SeaWorld... will my two DDs 4 and 6 enjoy the day there?
Is there transportation to/from Seaworld and our Disney Resort? We will not have a rental car.
Thanks for any pointers!

You should just rent a car for the day from the disney car care center. My kids have always loved Sea World. There is a forum here on the disboards that could give you a lot of info.

Last time I was to SeaWorld was in 2004, but we (2 adults) enjoyed it. We took a bus from ASMO to SeaWorld; I don't remember how much it cost but I'm sure the prices have gone up since then anyway. With 2 young kids I would probably just rent a car for the day though. I remember we had to wait a pretty long time at SeaWorld for the bus to take us back to the hotel in the evening.

This past Dec. we did Sea World for the day. Our DS's 5 and 2 loved it. I did not want to go at first but my wife talked me into it and i am glad. It was a great day we got there when it opened and stayed until about 3 30 or so. We were staying at CBR and just got a cab there and back it only cost about 24$ each way. I would do it. You'll be suprised. But the food is expensive there so if you can pack something that was our mistake, lunch was expensive and we only did a quick service thing.

You might want to consider planning your Sea World day on the Weekend. In October Sea World has "Spooktacular" included in your ticket. It is held during the day and kids (big kids too LOL) get to Trick or Treat, there are LOTS of walk around characters and some special shows. There is a dance party held near Wild Artic, the kids have a blast!

We loved Seaworld and would like to go again some day. There was a ton to do to hold our interest all day.

We were there in March. DD4 and DS2 (at the time) loved it.
We had a rental car but before we decided to rent I did check out the public bus and it was not that expensive or that long of ride.

Best advice if you decide to go is to get their at opening and head directly to the dolphin area. When we were there in March the first feeding was not until 930. The dolphins were swimming everywhere, one actually layed itself up on the shelf directly in front of the kids. Once the feeding begins they rarely venture out to the non paying/non feeding people. Saved us $7 per person to actually feed them.

A few years back we included 1 day Sea World visit to our trip. My kids 3, 7, 13 loved it. But then again, we live in PA and my DH and I went to Sea World in Ohio many, many times when we were younger. I was able to take the oldest two kids to Ohip before they shut down.

Anyhow, we took a cab from the hotel to Sea World. I do not remember how much that cost. Then at the end of the day, there is a line-up of taxi cabs to take you back to your resort.

Since we went they have added the waterpark, so I cannot comment on that.

The animals were fantastic. The kids loved feeding the dolphins, we did not see the Killer Whale Show Believe (a baby killer whale had been born a few weeks earlier), but we saw a shorter vresion, the sea lion and walrus show is not to be missed. We rode a few rides, they were pretty cool and they just added a new roller coaster (probably too much for younger kids).

I say if you have the time, go ahead and visit. It is a nice little break.

Our first trip to Sea World was when our boys were 2 and 4. They are now 3 and 5 and we have been 4 times. It is an absolute must-do in our WDW week. In fact, we take advantage of the "get a second day free" promotion...or DH talks his dad into giving us annual passes for Christmas.

The boys love it, and so do we. The park is beautifully landscaped and has never been crowded when we have been. We love the kids play area. They have a bunch of rides just for the little ones, plus a water play area. Its perfect for relaxing while the younger ones run and play.

Since we always drive, I can't help you on the transportation part, but I can tell you that its a great park to visit. :)

There are taxies usually lined up there. Just hop in one of them to get back and forth to the resort that one trip.:car: Unless you think you may need to use the rental car for something else. The prices may be close to the same, but think of all the time filling out the paperwork and returning the car with gas afterwards.. for one place...NAAA... I dont think we would waist the "disney" time up on it.
