Hubby says one day is enough, I am hoping for 2 days

The Matterhorn bob sleds are no longer the original style. That occured with a previous refurbishment, not the last one. Depending upon how tall you are, your knees won't be getting bruised.
It might depend on which seat you are assigned in the new bobsleds. I almost think the old-style sleds were easier to deal with because each seat was designed for two people, with two seats per bobsled. The new sleds have three seats per bobsled, so it feels more cramped.

After reading maltdizzy's comment, I just wanted to clarify -- because I don't want people getting the wrong idea -- no one at Disney (or anyone in an official capacity) has announced or revealed to the public that anything is changing with Mickey's Halloween Party, schedule-wise, location-wise, or entertainment-wise. As far as we know, right now, it's going to be business as usual.

Correct. I just wanted the OP to note that MHP could impact he calender...but no one can be sure what days it happens until they announce.

Dang, so it sounds like we wont even have the opportunity for the Halloween party either. Oh well, just one less thing I would be begging DH for as an extra. DH is 6'4, so he may be tall enough for WOC, but who knows... Hmmm. That's something to think about for sure, since I think that's something he was wanting to see there.
I am guessing that he probably will have bruised knees if he goes on the Matterhorn, so I am going to suggest to him that he doesnt. I'm only 5'9 and my knees hurt back in 04, so I can only imagine that I would still have the same problem. But DD has never been on it and we will most likely be able to see it from our hotel, so she will WANT to go on it.
IASM is also different at DLR than at WDW and she cannot really remember the differences, so she will love that, seeing Lilo & Stitch, Alice, Ariel, etc.

Oh my gosh, you guys are getting me excited. My travel agent is on my side with the 2 days and is going to try and work on my hubby as well. ha ha!

I'd push for that second day as well. There's just too much to do in one day, especially on a day which will likely have shorter park hours as it's midweek.

One a side note, I'm also a Seattleite who will be in DL that same week!

Awesome!! :) I am hoping that we can at least fly in on the morning of the 30th (my birthday!) and have a nice full half day at least and then do RD on October 1! We shall see...

I agree...with the big additions made to DCA since you were last there, plus the 60th at DL, this is the time to use two days if you want to enjoy both parks.

And IASM is infinitely better at DL. I'll reserve my opinion of WDW's version to myself (no I want...it stinks, it always looks rundown and like it hasn't been renovated since the '70's...though it has...they don't even try and hide the ceiling). Your DD will also big differences between POTC, SM, and have quite a few more Fantasyland rides to enjoy compared to WDW.

Oh my gosh, yes, IASM SUCKED donkey ba11$ WDW, I was not impressed at all. So old and the entry to it was so BLAH and inside (?)! POTC was not as cool as WDW either, IMO, they dont even have the bayou scene at the beginning. Speaking of which, I wonder how early I can make a ressie for Blue Bayou for lunch?
She is most excited (and I admit, I am too) for the NBC themed HM. I love love LOVE it! So much fun to see that theme!

Within 60 days on the Blue Bayou reservation. I agree with those who find the food pretty disappointing, more so after the high cost...but it's such a neat place to make a reservation and stop in for a dessert/treat.

I remember hating IASM as a kid at WDW. Then (undisclosed decades later) I move to L.A., had a kid of my own, became a DL regular, and IASM was a great boatride for a small child. And...I found I loved it (even more so after they added the Disney characters...and maybe even more so at Xmas). Went back the WDW after 15 years away, rode it...remembered why I hated it there.

I dunno, their Monte Cristo sandwich is soooo tasty! Maybe we will make a reservation for dessert instead though, I love the atmosphere of that restaurant!

Fair enough on the Monte Cristo.

I have gotten that before at Cafe Orleans (which has it for $10 less), but I think my Monte Cristo days are done. Now I have to have my sandwiches and donuts separate (and in moderation).

IMHO, if I were doing one day, I would choose ONE park, save the hopper $40 cost. You could upgrade a one day,one park ticket to a two day, one park per day ticket, in park only, before the park closes for the cost differential between the one and two days, and do the other park the second day.

As always, more days in park is better... but 1 day is better than zero days.

I say you need at least a 3 day ph ticket to see what all you have said. or a 2 day hopper with a party night (you get let in the party at 4pm or so. It can be a real good way to see a lot of things with a bit of extra fun.
I think you DH may need to stay at the hotel lol he seems like a downer to me. Id go and have a blast with you DD. I know i'm mean sorrry's lol but really who would ever think one day is enough. I miss the 6 and 7 day tickets. 5 is just not enough.

We can't do 3, I already tried. We are probably going to be doing WDW next Fall before our cruise, so I will take what I can get for DLR. :)
We did 3 on our last trip and that was more than enough for us, honestly. It's much easier to park hop at DLR and CA than at WDW too.

The Aladdin show is a WELL done broadway style/quality musical. Even if you have never seen the movie I think its well worth seeing.

I actually would always pick Aladdin over WOC if I HAD to choose. WOC is great but the hassle and poor viewing locations (for the most part) make it less of a must do for me.

I doesn't sound like your husband is really into Disney that much which makes it difficult when others do like it more and want to stay longer. I know its possible to technically do Disney in one day but i have never thought it would be possible to do Disney enjoyably in one day. Good luck in trying to get a 2nd day, compramise has always been part of my marriage going in both directions :chat:.

:yay: Yep, when we used to live in Portland and go to DL, we loved the 6-7 day tickets. I was hoping they would bring them back what with the 60th there is so much to see.

I doubt Olaf will be ousted from the parks anytime soon! Maybe a change in location in the future, but I doubt they'd want to delete him permanently. My favorite secret character spots are underneath the Symphony Swings, where we met Mickey, Koda, Genie, and Rafiki, and behind Dumbo, where we met Ariel!
