We were there this afternoon and some walls were down in places in front of Crystal Palace, so we could clearly see the new walkways. There are plants lined up, all ready to be planted. The Tomorrowland side doesn't appear to be quite as far along as the Adventureland side. It is looking really nice! The moat appears to stop right under the bridge, but it was difficult to see the other side, so we couldn't be sure. I'm going to try to post a link to a photo we took. Hopefully it will work...

Does anyone know exactly how this will impact the viewing of Wishes? I haven't been following that much, but I'm curious.

It looks so nice! I am glad the construction is winding up. We'll be there in 9 days and I can't wait!!

Thanks for posting! We'll be at MK on the 24th, so hopefully more progress will be made by then. :)

That looks great! We're not there again for awhile, but it was all walled up last summer, too, so what a great change for our next trip!!

Awesome! Looks great

Looks beautiful!

Looks really great

It looks so nice!

That looks great!

Do people actually think that this is an aesthetic improvement as opposed to an operational necessity? I'm glad that the walls are starting to come down and that the project is nearing completion. But all things considered, I preferred the "less pavement" to the "more pavement".

I think many of us preferred the grass, trees, flowers and shrubs that were there before this all began. But I can also understand the need to ease the congestion and improve traffic flow in the hub area. Given that, I think the new look is nice. And certainly an improvement over the walls that have been up for months.

Agree 100% with all of that. So it's just hard for me to kick up my heels and proclaim that the finished project "looks great!" To me it looks necessary. And functional. And about as good as one could have hoped for. All positives. But I'm not going to jump for joy and pretend that any of this is an aesthetic improvement.

Do we know what the crane is doing right now in MK? I'm glad to see many walls down. Does this change the strategy for watching the parades in Frontierland?

This is from the inside the magic FB page... I think it has a very majestic look. however - I did not spend much time in the hub prior too...

Wow, I'm trying to get my bearings, that looks so different than what we're used to. Is that photo taken from over by Crystal Palace?

Yep, but I think those comments could easily be followed by or preceded with "since it did have to be done" it looks great etc.

That area is so full of people XMAS week you couldn't see flowers or tress anyway-much less what the surface even is your walking on.

But yes since it was necessary-it does appear they did a very good job with it.

I believe so-and Main St will still be a huge bottle neck, both back alleys behind the stores were open XMAS week though, so it may work well for peak week closings.

But should be much less "shoulder to shoulder" during all of the hub activities they have.

You could sit there for 4 hours XMAS week and never wait 30 minutes for some kind of show it seemed. Elsa castle lighting alone twice a night was absolutely packed-and I won't say it was better than any ride, but I may be thinking it secretly.

I think the sentiment is: "They did as good a job as they could with the task at hand." It's just hard for me to look a the picture posted by BradChristian above and think: "That looks GREAT!" It looks like a very nice, wide sidewalk.

Your opinion is shared I'm sure, but they could have done far worse, those lamp post bases are not at all necessary and certainly more than just a wide sidewalk IMO, but I will wait and see the final product with the fountains, bridges, lighting and landscaping to react completely.
