Based on some posts, a number of you have one.
Who has one?
How do you like it?
What have you done to help with slowing down how quickly this thing eats batteries?

I have the phone, and have had it since the launch day. So far i like the device a lot, my only complaints are battery life, periodic reboots, and a concern about audio on the receiving end of calls. Web browsing with Dolphin HD, e-mail, notifications, and the HTC widgets are great.

Thanks,
Mike

I have had one for a couple of weeks, and other than the battery life I really like it. I haven't had any complaints about audio on receiving end of calls. I ended up buying extra battery (Seidio Innocell 1750 mAh Battery), but it only lasts a little longer than the battery that came with phone, so I end up swapping out batteries towards the end of day. I am thinking of trying the Verizon 2100 mAh battery. I heard that one lasts alot longer, but requires a different cover, because it is thicker.

thanks, i have thought about the extended verizon battery, but did not realize that the seidio battery works with the stock case. I might go that route. did the Siedio come with a charger?
Thanks,
Mike

My wife and my son each have one.

They both love the sound quality.

They use an Advanced App Killer app that helps with the battery life, although I know my wife still gives it little charges now and then.

Battery life depends on what apps you have running. Some apps may not behave and constantly keep the phone "awake". You can check if the phone is going into sleep mode when you turn it off by checking the following:

1. Go to SETTINGS

2. Go to ABOUT PHONE

3. Go to BATTERY

On this screen you will see "Up Time" and "Awake Time". The Up Time is the time that the phone has been on since the last reboot. The Awake Time is the time the phone is awake and doing something. Most of the time the phone should be sleeping.

The Awake Time should be SUBSTANTIALLY less than Up Time. If Awake Time is the same as Up Time, then you have something keeping the phone awake and eating up battery.

Best way to figure out what is eating the battery (if Awake Time is equal to Up Time) is to use a Task Manager and kill individual apps until your phone goes to sleep.

My day is typically 16 hours. I put the phone on charge at 11 pm and take it off at 7 am. By the end of the day, my battery level is usually still about 20%. If I stream a lot of audio from the net then I may not get a full day but that's to be expected.

I have one and love it. If I turn off the GPS/Location settings I can make it through the day without much problem. A day like today, I used it for navigation, taking photos, uploading to facebook, etc. I was able to kill it in at 5pm. I plugged in into the car for an hour and made it through the rest of the day. I use the app killer a lot and kill any running apps. Most normal days, I don't have a problem with it running dead.

I've checked out the bigger batteries, most that would make it a full day under heavy use are huge and require a separate cover. I will get one I think to use when on vacation or traveling so I can make it through a busy day without recharging.

thanks all.
I like the idea of the larger battery for travel, and will probably pick one up, in addition to an additional charger. The 3500mh battery is a beast.
I am sitting at 7hrs 26 min of uptime, with 2hrs 38 min of awake time. My battery is at 40%. 24% voice, 23% system, 21% cell standby, 17% phone idle, 8% display, 7% wifi. I use ATK, and shut things down often. I think the issue is really heavy use of the phone, which reinforces the need for a bigger battery.
At least i can have a back-up battery :)
One of my favorite apps is EverNote. I use it to keep notes synched on my droid inc & my ipad.

Hello all, I'm an owner of a hacked, customized htc incredible and I just wanted to chime in.

Firstly, congrats on getting an htc incredible! They are severely backordered now, so they are kind of a collectors item!

As for saving battery, there are a few things that you can do. You could buy a larger battery, and that's a fine idea, but if you consider seidio, you may want to be careful with exactly what you buy from them. The battery capacity is generally around 80% of what they state it is, so you may end up getting a battery similar to what you started with if you don't buy a very high capacity one.

Probably the most effective ways to save battery are to:
- Download JuiceDefender, configure it, use it

- Make facebook/twitter/weather/mail/etc synchronize less often, they sync every few hours as opposed to every few minutes on my phone.

- Turn auto-brightness off, and set brightness for what you need. There are brightness apps on the market to make that easy.

Another thing to save battery as what someone else said here is task killers. Task killers are good if you use them correctly, but you don't want to get too excited with them. A good one is 'Advanced Task Killer'. When using these, you want to make sure that their 'kill level' is set to relatively low, because if it goes killing programs all the time, it actually wastes battery instead of saving it. Your phone can handle task killing on its own most of the time, you only need these sorts of programs for occasional clean up.

Also, someone else said to check the battery usage screen, I also think that's a good idea, to see if there's any program that's really wasting battery, or to see if you can adjust your habits to save battery life!

Also, it's nice to have a little panel to turn on/off gps, wifi, and such.. htc sense comes with some of those widgets, but you can also download a program like dazzle to put them all in one place. If you are ever at home, or not traveling around much, you should turn ON wifi, as opposed to 3g wireless, as it can save battery power. 3g wireless can be a battery hog if your wireless signal is low bars. Also, airplane mode is good for if you are watching movies and such, but then again it turns off all wireless, so don't keep it on if you want people to be able to get a hold of you!

It's also possible that you can save battery life by using a different home screen. I'm not sure how true it is, but if you feel like trying something new, I'd suggest Launcher Pro, on the market.

Forgot to add texting me about your B-Day Wish list.

As soon as my current Blackberry contract is up (October), a see a Droid phone coming my way. Most likely the Incrediible.

I can admit that I am not a smart HTC Incredible owner. So with that said, can someone please tell me how to get pictures off of my phone? I also want to add music. And, I hate looking for directions. Thanks!

All right. I have figured out the picture part of it. Now I have to figure out how to put music on it.

How do you get the pictures off the phone?

Just plug it into the computer and move the songs over, are you using a PC? Hopefully all your music isn't in iTunes! Then you have to export, etc...
Bring it to chicago, I'll show you/do it for you.

Plug it in to your computer and select use in disk mode / disk drive. For the default music player you will want put the music in your ~8gb internal storage in a folder named mp3 or music or something obvious, but for music players you find on the market you will want them on your sd card if you have one.
