We are going from HS to DTD for an ADR.

To avoid two busses we thought we would either:

a) Walk to BW and then bus to DTD or
b) Bus to SSR and then walk to DTD

Which of those is likely to be faster and which has the shorter walking segment?

A third choice if timing is right is Boat to BW and then Bus to DTD but I am not sure that is faster than walking. I am also not sure if the Boat goes from HS right to BW or if stops at other locations first

The walks are pretty close (10-15 minutes) if you're comparing going from DHS to the Boardwalk bus stop and the SSR Congress stop to the Marketplace at DTD,if you're walking to the Pleasure Island or West End section you have to add another 10-15 minutes.Even though they're close I'm going to assume SSR Congress stop to the DTD Marketplace might be a tad shorter. The boats from DHS are not fast as you could spend 15-20 minutes just waiting for one,if you however see one coming as you exit the park and it's hot out you might want to go grab it to avoid the walk in the heat,if it's cool out it's a great walk. The boats do stop at the Swan/Dolphin dock and possibly the Y&B club before heading to the Boardwalk,I always forget what order they stop at.If you're objective is to get there fast just walk to the Boardwalk.

the first option!!!!

we once took a bus from AK to SSR. figuring to walk over to DTD for a Captain's JacK ADR. the bus took forever!!! no one on e the bus (incuding the bus driver) knew which stop we should get off at.

I would walk or take the boat to the first stop (it might be the swan-dolphin?) then grab a dtd bus from there

You can't just assume because you waited a long time for a bus once that it's always like that,I know for example I've waited around 30 minutes on some occasions for a DTD bus from the Boardwalk,so a longer than normal wait can happen from any location at any time.If you do take the bus to SSR the bus stop to get off at is Congress. If you plan to walk from DHS the closest resort bus stop would be the Boardwalk, once you get to the Luna Park pool area go into it and go through the hallway with the bathrooms and arcade which will lead you to the courtyard, just go up the stairs to get to the bus stops. If taking the boat from DHS the first stop will be the Swan/Dolphin.I honestly can't suggest one option over the other as either one can be faster than the other at any given time,it's just timing. But where you will be eating in DTD would impact my decision, for example if eating at the Rainforest Cafe which is at the far end of the Marketplace taking the SSR bus might be the better option as you would only have the walk between the Congress stop to the Rainforest cafe.If however you're eating at House of Blues at the opposite end in the West Side,it might be better to take the bus from the Boardwalk and get off at the second DTD bus stop by Pleasure Island.
