HS Rope Drop

Has anyone had any experience with rope dropping Slinky Dog and then going over to TOT/Rock n Roller Coaster for the next 2 rides? I don’t see this strategy in many suggested touring plans but these are our must do’s. We plan to be there early early and be one of the first in line for Slinky.

If it's your must do then do it, honestly, as long as you get one popular ride at rope drop you'll have the rest of the park with lower waits especially those 2 attractions.
The beauty of DHS right now is that they have basically 3 popular attractions people rope drop so the crowds spread out a bit between those 3.

Why are RnR and ToT not included? Is it because they aren't new, or because they don't open right away? (or another reason?)

And my follow up question - if we have two morning rope drops at HS, how would you split up these rides?

Also, is signing up for the Jedi Training still a thing that people do for their kids at HS early in the day?

Jedi training hasn't returned yet.

We do this exact strategy every time we go - we hit SDD - the key is walking fast and making sure you can get to the front of the pack on that - we typically are able to make the 1st or 2nd train (generally arriving between 7:40 and 8 - depending on if we were somewhere we could walk from or had to take the Skyliner - we haven't rope dropped from a bus). We then again walk very fast over to ToT (it seems to take RnR longer to build a crowd) and get on with maybe a 10-15 minute wait, then hit RnR with again with maybe a 10-15 minute wait. We're usually able to finish all three right around or just after official park opening.

If I had to guess, I would think it's because the other attractions are so new. People who haven't been in awhile want to experience them. Personally, ToT and RnRC are some of my favorite attractions in the park because I love thrill rides. When we rope dropped HS in February, we went straight to ToT and it opened right on time. It was a walk-on. We even had our own elevator because so few people went that direction. Then we headed to RnRC and it was a walk-on as well. By mid-morning, however, both rides had a much longer wait.

It's 7:30 pm ET and I just checked wait times...interesting that most rides have manageable waits yet ToT and RnRC are still quite high. SDD is high but that's to be expected.

It should work. At RD, the crowds seemed to be headed to SDD or MFSR.
If you are near the front, the wait for SDD will not be too long. Just be sure to be in line about an hour before official opening time. For us, the park opened 45 minutes before posted time. About 10 minutes before letting us in, the lines to get in really grew.
We did MMRR twice at RD, then RnRC walk on and Tot with a 15 minute wait.

yes, i did this on my first day and i recommend it if you want RnR and TOT with short waits. but NOT if you want MF and MMRR for short rides. by the time we were done with the first three the other two rides were 60+ minute wait until at least 4pm

I plan to go to ToT then RnR at rope drop. Sometimes, you can find a little bit shorter waits for SDD in the afternoons, but ToT waits seem to never drop.

Personally, I'd do it in reverse. Number one, you'll eliminate one entire section of the park. Even the walk there and back should be added to your wait because its still time our of your day. What we have found to be the most successful has been to RD ToT and Rock N Roller Coaster then, usually Toy Story.

Runaway Railway and Smugglers run are done at some point in the afternoon or evening and Slinky Dog as late as possible
