I need advice from more experienced Disney go-ers! We arrive at BCR in late April on a Sunday morning; we were planning on checking in and heading into HS for the day. However, I see that they have EMH that day…and we wouldn’t be getting in until after 12. My husband, almost 3 year old, and I will be travelling. DH wants to do Smuggler’s Run (hopefully FP+) and I want to hit Toy Story land for rides. Other than that, we plan on just walking around GE, doing Beauty and the Beast, and Lightening McQueen’s Race Academy.

We have a resort day planned in the middle of our week to rest and let our son take it easy. I’m considering giving up that day (or at least the morning) to go to HS instead. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!!

It is possible that EMH would get moved to evening, then you would be able to enjoy them.
I would also say maybe see what FP+ you can get on the two different days and go with the one that gives you the best FPs.

Based on what you want to do, even if they have EMH that morning, it sounds like it would be worth doing.
As others have mentioned, most likely, the EMH will be moved to evening.

My advice is always to spend as much time at the parks as possible.
While I usually subscribe to this philosophy, I have also traveled with a 3 year old (actually two of them at once) and a break in the middle of the week might be needed. However, it also depends on whether you'll have another day at HS or if this would be your one shot. When my boys were 3, they loved all things Cars, and there isn't much around the parks so the Racing Academy would have been a huge hit. (*sigh* they grow up so fast - enjoy it!!!)

I would plan on DHS or EP on your arrival day. If you are arriving early afternoon, chances are your room won't be ready yet and there really won't be much else to do other than go to a park. I would definitely keep the resort day as planned.

EMHs have been moved to the evening through August, although that might be late for your little guy. If you don't have any intention of riding Rise of the Resistance then I think your plan of going to HS on arrival day and then taking a break mid-week is a good one. Or Epcot on arrival day as the PP suggested. I would guess getting a FP for MFSR at 60 days out is basically non-existent, but you could get lucky with refreshing the app the day of. Have fun!!

Sunday April 19 & Sunday April 26 both have evening EMH from 830 -1030 PM. I love SWGE and Toy Story Land at night.

I think it would just depend on how the little guy is doing once you get in. If you already have the tickets and can go ahead and make FPs I'd plan on going, but if he is just too tired or grumpy, maybe just a pool afternoon. As someone has already said, it's possible your room won't be ready so to have a plan just in case it isn't, isn't a bad thing. If your room is ready, you can also do a short pool/rest time then head over to either Epcot or HS for a few hours. Nothing says you have to spend all day every day in the parks, I'm a big believer in playing it by ear with little ones and going on their schedule, makes life easier for everyone.

Just as an FYI, if you want to ride Rise of the Resistance you will need to be in the park by opening. So just keep that in mind for either day you go. Next, I myself would get FPs and do what I could at HS on arrival day. Its hard to get there and just wait to start taking in the parks. The resort day I would do morning and then leave the park early or around say 4-5PM if you wanted down time away from the park. Giving up the AM makes it so you won't get on ROR and will arrive in mid day when everything will be packed.
