I have a feeling my DS who will be 5 1/2 on our trip, will want to do the Jedi Training. I was going to make HS a leisurely day, maybe a 10 a.m. arrival, etc. But now I think I'll need to go at RD so I can sign him up. If we go at RD, we will HAVE to have a break, which means I think I need to cut something out of my jam packed touringplan. I think I want to pick just one of these shows.
So, for a 5 1/2 year old boy, what would be better? He has seen IJ movies once or twice, kind of neat, but he does love cars, so I am leaning towards LMA.
Also, looks like LMA has two showtimes, but Indy has more, so if we end up with a large free time, maybe one of his shows will be in progress or something.

Just for reference, we have also planned: Jedi Training sign up, Star Tours, Muppets, TSMM, Animation Academy to meet characters, Jedi Training show, Twilight Zone TOT, Fantasmic! including the one hour to wait for it to start. We'll also try to do lunch at Sci-Fi Drive In. We are leisurely park goers and I don't want to schedule us to run from one to the next to the next. Other behind the scenes stuff does not interest us at this time, and no Dis Jr as he is too old for it now.

I vote for keeping LMA! I don't have boys … but, even my girls liked LMA a LOT and wouldn't miss it now for anything!!

I think they are both quality shows, especially for a 5 1/2 year old boy. If he's into Indiana Jones, then he might identify more with that show. Either way, I lean towards the Indiana Jones show.

I'd see if I could squeeze them both in, but if I had to choose, I'd go for Indy.

I would do both if you could, seems like he would like the both of them. But if you've only time for the one I would go for IJ, he might find it more entertaining.

I've tried to watch a few of the videos on youtube of each one... seems like there is a lot standing around and talking in both of the shows, which I think will seem boring to DS. What do you guys think?

We prefer IJ. My kids got a little bored during parts of LMA, as there is a lot of standing around, talking time. IJ is just a lot more entertaining IMHO.

The trouble with LMA is that it takes so long to set up each trick shot. I got bored and sat watching the doors over on ToT opening and closing (we were a long way up).

I don't think there's as much 'sitting around' with Indie, and we love the stooge audience volunteer.

I would recommend LMA. My son, who is also 5, loved it when we went in June, especially since they've added Lightning McQueen to the show. He's obsessed with Lightning and Mater though. With that said, it is rumored that IJ will be closing in January to make way for the Star Wars Land expansion. I can't remember where I saw that but I remember believing the source. I'm sure he'll enjoy whichever you choose.
