Hi - we were last at WDW back in April 2016. Now that work is underway at HS, how much is there to do with a 5yo who likes Star Tours but won't go on ToT? Her favorite movie and character is Moana, so we will probably go over at some point to meet her, but otherwise, what else would be high on your list for a 5yo. We will be staying at BCV and are trying to decide how much time to spend at each park, since Frozen is her 2nd favorite movie and she LOVES Soarin' and it was closed when we went last year.

There is definitely stuff the 5 and under set will enjoy at HS. Disney Jr, The Little Mermaid show, Muppetvision 3D, Beauty and the Beast stage show, Toy Story Midway Mania, lots of character meets. The Frozen Sing Along is also a really fun show and the two "historians" running it are quite funny.

We planned one day there (my kids were almost 3 and almost 5), and ended up spending the better part of 2 days there. Granted, my now five-year-old is Star Wars obsessed, but they loved all of the shows, as well as character meets and TSMM. We ride Star Tours about 15 times, I think. And Jedi training took the better part of a morning. We didn't go anywhere near ToT. It was fun!

We like to go for the shows, the main attraction for our children was the Jedi Training Academy but my favorite ride (Toy Story Mania) is also there! My kids also enjoy getting out of the heat and watching the Disney Junior indoor show. That's a great cooling off show and gives the kids time to sit down and interact with some of their favorite characters.

I would also book a meal at the Sci-fi Drive in, but make sure to book a car booth, that way you can pen the kids in a little while you eat. This books out well in advance so book early! Our kids love this part of the trip.

Thanks! How have the crowds been, now that there's fewer attractions? And Jedi training Academy, do we still have to get there at or before park open to sign up?

Sci-Fi Drive In has been booked all the times we've tried in the past, and even this trip. I'll keep looking, though!

The crowds weren't too bad, but the queue for Toy Story was outrageous. And yes, if you want to book a decent time for the Jedi Training you would need to get there before opening. we made a special trip to get there and were one of the first people there but we were 90 mins early. They open the gates and it was a mad rush! Like a game show! lol But they then hold you at the main court area so you cannot access the rides etc... You also need to have your kids there present so you cannot simply just go as a parent and leave everyone in the hotel, so its an ordeal. Our kids loved the experience so it was worth it, but we won't be doing it again! 100+ degrees in a brown cloak! not a good combo!

You need to book Sci-fi Drive in well in advance, its worth it though, food is good, good value and kids really talk about it and remember it so worth the extra effort. Failing that you can aways put your name down for a table and wait around if the kids are looking for a break, we've done that a few times. Although you may not get a car 'booth', something to take into consideration.

We just got back. DD, almost 5, loved the beauty and the beast show and the frozen show. She liked meetint Kylo Ren (haha) and watching the Star wars show. It was one of my favorite park days too! Muppets 3d was her first 3d show and it was fun to see her reaction.
