HS closing early in May??

Anyone know why HS is closing at 8:30 for some dates in May??? Seems SO early!

It's every Tuesday & Thursday during May. Also, there are no Star Wars fireworks schedule for these nights.

Disney has declared those days to be the "slow season".

Looks like it is currently scheduled that way (closing at 8:30 everyday) for all of June. Hopefully they will extend that soon.

Same for July so far also - 8:30 on every night they don't have EMH.

I don't usually travel in May, so I had to go look - that was the usual May closing time last year except a couple weekends when hours were extended til 10 or on EMH nights. Were they usually later in prior years? Fireworks, of course I can't compare because they're new this year.

Correct. But there is a Fantasmic showing at 9pm, even though the Park officially closes at 8:30pm.

Fall is "slower" times, with shorter park hours than busy summer times. However, hours usually get updated multiple times between when they're initially released and when the month rolls around. I travel generally in Oct and am used to DHS hours Ending at 7/7:30 with Fantasmic at 7:30/8 except for one EMH per week where they close at 9. With parties preventing late nights at MK, the only way to get later nights is to end up at Epcot (usually 10-11 close) or to use EMH liberally.

Usually it's been till 9:00. 8:30 seems an odd time to close.

Well they had to trim 500 million from the park because of over runs in China
Today we were at hs did rr and tot 3 times 2 with fp as 1 standby each star wars 2 times 1 with fp and ate lunch ate brown derby last minute adr and dinner at sci fi and we're back to the room by 8 plus watched the star wars show

WOW!!! Good for you guys! I hope WE get that lucky with rides, on our trip! We are in single digits now!!

I was there Wednesday night, closed at 10:00, fireworks at 9:45pm.
