Okay...this post is going to be all over the place. I don't know anything about this and I'm trying to make sense of it all.

I'm leaving HS one day at 2:00 and thinking of taking the kids to Beaches and Cream for a treat. Is there a boat I would catch? Where would I catch it? How long would travel take? I'll planning to go back to the resort after for swimming and have dinner in MK at 6:35 at Crystal Palace. Though I could move that to the next night and eat QS closer to 7:30-8:00.

Anyways, would I then have to catch the boat back to get a bus to my resort?

Do I need an ADR just to have ice cream there? Would this be better on say an Epcot day? Or a day where I leave HS and go back there for more touring?

I really want the kids to experience the boat ride, but I don't want to spend all our down time traveling.

Thanks for any help.

You can take the boat from just outside of the entrance to HS to the Boardwalk and walk to Beaches & Cream. I would allow 30-45 min for travel. If you leave HS at 2, you most likely won't be eating ice cream until 3. That might be too close to your 6:35 Crystal Palace reservation. You probably won't have time to go back for a swim after ice cream either. Plan on 30-45 minutes at Beaches & Cream, then the boat back to HS, then a bus to CBR. You'll need to leave CBR by 5:30 to get to Crystal Palace for your 6:35 dinner. Sounds like too much eating and traveling in a short amount of time.
I would suggest you save Beaches & Cream for your Epcot day. It's an easy walk from the International Gateway near France in Epcot.
You do need a reservation, even for ice cream. The dining room is small and fills quickly. You could get ice cream from the "to go" window but that's up to you. It is a table service restaurant.
You can take boat transportation to and from a variety of places if your main goal is to ride a boat. For example, you can boat from POR, POFQ, OKW or SSR to DTD and from WL, PVR or GF to MK, to name a few. You can also take the monorail to the TTC and ride the ferry to MK.
Hope this helps. Have a great trip!

You will see the Friendship Boat dock to the left as you exit DHS. Once the boat is underway it is about a 12-20 minute ride depending on how long you stay on the boat. You can get off at the first stop (Swan and Dolphin) and walk over to B&C or I would get off at the second stop (Yacht & Beach Club) where B&C is located. To get back to your resort take the boat back to DHS and catch the bus.

Getting to B&C from Epcot is much easier - walk out the IG and it is a less than 10 minute walk. If your kids want to take the Friendship boat, there is a dock just outside the IG, but Yacht & Beach will be the second stop so you will have to allow about 35 minutes just in case you just miss the boat and have to wait for the next one.

B&C is a TS. It's a very small restaurant - 3 booths and about 6 tables plus a counter so you would definitely need a reservation, especially since you 'll be taking the time to come from a park. If you want ice cream and cannot get a reservation there are some sundaes and cones available at the B&C to go window, but not the large Kitchen Sink. Some things can be purchased with snack credits at the to go window..

I would not recommend B&C and Crystal Palace on the same day because you probably won't be hungry for a buffet that soon after having ice cream.

I also agree that you will not have time to go back to your resort for a swim because of the travel time you have to allow.

Thanks so much. I'm going to nix going there that day. I even moved the Crystal Palace reservation for that night to one of my MK days. I'm going to eat QS and spent more time snoozing in my resort before EMH at MK. Thanks for the help!
