Ok, so i know HRRR is not scheduled to be open HHN but my question is, since HRRR is said to have safety issues at night, and HHN opens at 7, would i able able to run over right when i get in and ride it before the sun sets?

It has no safety issues at night. The safety issue is that HHN is a drunkfest; imagine stuff flying out of people's pockets and hitting the drunks below, and drunks thinking it's fun to try to peg the coaster trains with beer bottles.

You can get a ride before HHN, but sometimes the line is so long that HHN will have let Stay and Scream out before you get off the coaster. The first few nights of HHN it was 30 to 45 mins. but last time we were there it was over an hour so we just went over to the Stay and Scream area.

Wow, didnt know HRRR was closed during HHN. While I can see what you are saying about the drunks, last year we were all but strip searched for things as stupid as MiB (one idiot was actually making people turn out their pockets) so I wouldnt see how that would be a realistic concern unless Universal has become relaxed on letter people in lines.

I don't understand why HRRR is even considered as being open when it is down most of the time (from other peoples reports) and there is still no express lane.

Heck, when they first opened the ride and advertised it officially on the Universal website they put an express logo and links to buy express passes which I am sure mislead people into believing that express worked on the ride (had they not read the ticket details before buying).

The whole thing just bothers me. Either the ride is fully ready to open or it isn't. It's truly a scary thought to be "testing" any ride on the public and having so many failures.

Ok, I am done now. Sorry to derail! :p

The park closes at 5pm on HHN nights. If you are in line for HRRR when the park closes they will let you stay to ride it, even if it's a 2 hour wait. They don't have an express line yet but they do have a singles line, if you are lucky you can hop in that and have no wait at all.

So yes, you can get in line then go to S&S but the line could be so long that you're still in it when the houses open.

I know what you mean about MiB; they always make me turn my fanny pack to the side and cram that lap bar down like it's gonna somehow fling me out. They're pretty paranoid about HRRR too, but only if you're really obvious. For example, if they see me drinking from my little water bottle in line, they try to make me throw it away till I show them I can button it securely in my cargo shorts. But if you have stuff in your pockets and your shirt is down over your pants, they won't see it...and you're gonna lose it. DH just rode singles line with someone who lost their wallet, and I rode with someone who lost a cell phone. Usually Uni is overly paranoid, but the forces on HRRR really do pull stuff out of your pants worse than any coaster I've ever ridden except Manta. It's more that the idiots below the track would be throwing things at the coaster (and believe me, they WOULD).

It's been open pretty steadily now. It's not that it's unsafe; the problems have to do with the loading. I don't know what brain dead ding-dong thought a moving walkway would ever work, but guess what? Bad idea! Thus they cannot load it at the proper capacity it is supposed to run at, which means much longer lines. I'd lay money they're never gonna get that belt running, just because people take forever to get into their seats, get the lap bar down, etc. Best bet is to go during the day in dead season if you can. Our shortest wait last month was 13 minutes in standby, and single riders was walk-on.

Gotcha

Yeah I know what you mean. Some are more relaxed at checking then others but everytime we have ridden MiB they are always strict for some reason.

i think (and hope) that if the ride fixes its efficiency problem before october is over that itll open during hhn. the website has it listed as one of the rides open during the event and it tests all throughout the night (theres no people in it, but still it cant be a safety issue if its running?). I was really looking forward to it being open during hhn because historically, ride lines are soooo short while all the people are on haunted houses
