HRH-WL transportation pricematching option for onsite rental

Before we added HRH to our trip I was going to potentially use DME going to WL and renting a car on site and returning to the airport or renting a car the whole trip. Adding HRH I thought I would rent at HRH (Portofino actually). I find Hertz to charge the highest rental rates (Avis is now up there as well) but the rates quoted were shocking.

We are staying at the HRH for 2 days and then going to WL for 4 days. While investigating renting a car from the onsite Hertz rental at the Portofino on our date of departure to WL. The price quotes using my gold Hertz #1 card selections, AAA, Entertainment guide etc etc are ridiculous. I thought I was doing something wrong when I called and they quoted a $300 rate. They said it was having a pick up at the hotel and drop off at MCO. I have always found picking up at another location and dropping off at MCO to be cheaper on other cars rentals, however I have never used the Hertz for the Universal Hotels. The person on the phone did say that Hertz will match other rates but you'd need to book at the existing rate and then bring in the paper work for the lesser rate. I wondered whether anyone has had an experience price matching at this Hertz location?

I came across this post and would be interested in the answer as well. I totally agree that Hertz's prices are out of line. I haven't found their cars or service to be any better then most of the others. Has anyone used price matching with Hertz anywhere? If so, how exactly does it work? Thanks in advance.
