Their website says this is a seperate ticketed event... anyone know how to find out the line up and where to get tickets??

Summer (June/July/August)
The last Thursday of the month the Hard Rock Hotel hosts Velvet Sessions, Orlando's
hottest rock 'n' roll cocktail party featuring rock legends performing live in the hotel lobby.

Enjoy up-close and personal performances from some of rock’s biggest legends. Past performers have included Cheap Trick, Loverboy, the Fixx, Joan Jett and Eddie Money.

Orlando’s most intimate rock & roll cocktail party is held in the hotel’s lobby and Velvet lounge the last Thursday of every month (excluding November & December). This is a separately ticketed event. Space is limited.

check out www.velvetsessions.com! This is a great party. You have to "request an invite" and they will send you a invitation each month which will tell you who is playing and what the cost is. The price ranges between $20 - $50 per person ( adults 21 and up ONLY )

Lots of fun, tho the last few I went to were just too packed out--you could barely move, let alone get a drink. They offer free alcohol from 6 to 8 (when the band usually starts), as well as trays of appetizers circulating throughout the room. Although you have to RSVP, all you have to do is request an e-mail invite. They usually come out right after the first of the month.

Wow thanks for this thread. It sounds like fun, and we will be arriving at the Hard Rock that afternoon (Jan 26). I went to the velvet sessions website, and the scheduled band is Naked Eyes. Don't know whether I've ever heard of them, or if it was one of those 80s bands that you know the song but not the name of the group. Anyway, I requested an invite and maybe we'll go if it sounds like music we'd like. Thanks again.

Naked Eyes was supposed to play last Summer but had to cancel; that's the only reason I can remember what they sang.

Even if the band doesn't thrill you, it's worth stopping by, just for the free booze and people-watching. Especially if you're going to be at the Hard Rock anyway...

I have never been smart enough to remember to schedule my vacation on the last thursday of the month. This sounds like sooooo much fun!

No, sorry. But given what drinks run at CityWalk, it's not hard to get your $20 worth. There's appetizers, too, and the whole thing is just kind of fun, even when it's a kind of obscure band.

I've emailed for an invitation and so have our friends and we haven't heard a thing. Also, we're not going until Feb and the site doesn't ask. How do they know which month to send an invite for?

I signed up to receive an invitation about 2 years ago and have been receiving them every month since then. They seem to send 2 or 3 emails per event.
