HRH To The Parks

We've always taken the shortcut through the pool, & behind the slide. I remember reading on here a few months ago that this exit had been closed. For those who have been recently, what is the fastest way to walk from HRH to US? TIA

I was at HRH at the end of May and the pool gate was still operational.

So I would expect it to be ok

That's great news! I wonder if they got a lot of complaints, when they decided to lock that gate & not allow usage. That's definitely a more convenient way to get to the parks.

The exit they closed is now marked employess only. It was quicker than the one that you take now (next to the slide.) You can also open that gate and cut through the grass at that point. You will see the walking path ahead instead walk to the right (dog walk alley) and its quicker. If you exit HRH's front doors to the left is the parking lot but I believe they put up tall shrubs to block getting through. That was quick too.

In any event the walk is a quick one were just always looking for the quickest after a long day walking in the parks. The pedi cabs were pretty darn awesome and positioned just right for HRH.

Okay, I'm confused. I bet you're surprised, huh? To get to the exit we've always taken you exit the main doors leading to the pool. You stay to the right passing by the bar. It is then to the right of the slide entrance. Is this exit closed or open? If it's closed, I need directions to the exit that's fastest. An "HRH to US for Dummies" version would be perfect!

Walk to the left of the slide continue on to the gate, open the gate at this point you could cut to your right through the lawn or head to the walking path to Universal. There is a sign there also.

Any exit to the RIGHT by the bar is closed and marked employee only, you must head left back past the slide.

Are these the directions from HRH or PBH? J/K I think I'm getting hysterical & need to go to bed. Believe it or not, I haven't packed one item. Unfortunately, my obsessive over planning only includes the fun stuff.

I'm hoping that the waterslide exit is the same exit that we use... When we leave the hotel via the pool entrance, instead of turning right to go past the pool bar, we turn left and walk past the ping pong table and some cabanas. Then there's a gate at the corner of the hotel that we use. Is that the one that's closed or is that the same exit that you get to when you go past the water slide?

Anyone do this? On check-out day we load the car and park as far back as possible in the big lot(when facing the entrance its the right lot) at HRH (we are guests) and just walk to Studios. You have to walk through the employee lot but its about 15 spaces long and it opens up to where the shuttles drop you off at. From the gate it takes about 5 mins to walk to your car. Love it!

Ways to get to City Walk/Parks from HRH

1) Water slide gate by pool and bar. I cannot remember if we used this gate in December '05 but it may now be closed.

2) Other gate by hot tub in far left corner - really not that much further but when it rained it seemed the water slide gate was better.

3) This was the first way we ever went to parks: Get off elevator at 3rd floor and walk across lobby to exit by Palm restaurant - go down stairs to parking lot and walk across to CW. This is exactly like the water slide gate.

I believe that is all the easy ways. Guess you could walk from kiddie prison side by the boat ramp and walk along the river but it wouldnt be fast.

I like the idea of walking thru the grass if it's not wet. And I bet there's even a way to walk thru the bushes behind the volleyball court. That would be funny if the Disers made a new path. Here's a picture to look at.

The exit behind the slide is history. That's the way we always went. Last week, our room was close to the side exit of the resort that joins the walkway you follow when exiting to the left of the pool. Hope that makes sense. From our room this was probably faster. I don't think it would be as fast as the exit we originally took, if we were staying elsewhere in the resort & had to walk past the pool.

This isn't the exit behind the slide, but is the exit that is still open. It will be business as usual for you.

We use to walk by the pool, right by the beach club, and leave through the gate by the slide. We would walk along the right of the slide, that was closed when I was there in March 05'.

We either now go all the way from the Garden, or be lazy and take the boat. The boat is a nice ride and gives someone who like to take pictures, like me, some good photo ops of the Globe as well as CityWalk and IOA. I took these from the boat last year:
