We checked in at 9:30 on Oct 2nd. We where given a king suite just like we where told at the time of ressies. The room assisigned was not ready. I told Robert that i did'nt care what view i had as long as i could get one that was ready. We chose to take our luggage in with us just one case and a duffle and no one seemed offended btw. We did valet the car. He found a room that was ready and ask about our lowes amenties. We chose bud light and nuts and requested a 4 delievery. It was a nice big room with a rolling stones theme. I was'nt as impressed as my husband was. We had a great pool view room. It was room 6100 not a long walk from the elevators just one hall way down. For those of you that have been to the hrh the halls go on forever. :) My complaints with the room are minor really. There was some wall damage down by the bottom wall connecting to the shower. It was swollen up from the shower wetting it. I know this because when you turn the shower on it floods the wall and the floor before you can shut the door. It's a small shower and the water has great pressure. My husband loved the water pressure. I did'nt care for the floor being flooded though. The other complaint i had is the door shutting. The entry had to be pulled to to close it every time we opened it. I left one time to shop down stairs while me dh was in the shower and i almost forgot to pull it too with housekeeping looming in the halls that could have been ugly if i did'nt think to pull it to everytime. Other than that the bed was great! A very good nights sleep with one exception. The bed had lighting over the head board we came back from the parks and crashed on the bed flipped the light off and WHAT a light UNDER the bed was glearing at us! OH my i jumped up and tried every switch in the room and finally gave up sleeping with that stupid light on all night. I was so tired it did'nt bother me but if i had of stayed another night that thing would have to be fixed or cut off somehow. We had a nice stay and for the most part it was great i think i would have been just as happy with a deluxe room though the king suite just did'nt impress me much. I was thinking it may work for bring the kids and we could have privacy but it's just one big open space with a pull out sofa. So that does'nt work for us. It does connect however to two other rooms not sure what types of rooms though. One door by the bed the other next to the entry door. Service was great we bought our tickets at the conceirge desk and they where selling express too we got our ap discounts without a problem. The hrh store gave me the ap discount on my purchases. Oh here's a tip they have can cokes for .93 in the hrh store! The resturant/store next to the kitchen wants 3.00 for a 20 oz coke! Just thought i'd share that with you guys. Well we are off to mnsshp next weekend wait this weekend.LOL Leaving the 8th at the WL.

Thanks for the review, Tammy. Sounds like a King Suite wasn't worth it for 2 adults?

That is so bizarre -- a light under the bed? How weird is that? Could you have unscrewed the light bulb or something? I can't imagine that!

Did you have a good time at HHN?

I was so tired and so give out i could'nt have unscrewed the light much less got under the bed to hunt it.LOL No it was'nt worth it for 2 adults but it was a platuim upgrade so it's not like i paid the rack rate or anything for it.

As for HHN's i was so disappointed this year. It was'nt near last years HHN"s. Not as many street scare zones it was quite a let down. I enjoyed most of the houses but there was just not the scares that i got last year. Saying that we'll be there next year :) and try it again. I think well do two nights next year and see if that will help us out. We where so give out from walking to the houses from park to park that we really could'nt enjoy our selves much. So take time to relax and i'm sure after a weekend or two the scares would get better it was opening weekend. And i'm not writing it off as a total loss but just not great this year like last year.

That's funny you mention leaving the light on because I did the same in my HGI room. In my case, it was the light as you enter the room. The switch was next to the door. I had finished eating, my shower, and it seems my brain shut down. I remember searching for the switch, but then went to the bed and crashed, my brain just shut down.
I woke up the next morning thinking, wow, I left the light on.

HHN was different this year, but I was still entertained. Last year was hard to top, with the foam, and more scare zones.

I called for a HRH room during the value season right before Christmas and told them I'm Platinum and after what seemed like a cigarette break she came back with something like $219 for a king suite. I told her that someone told me that Florida resident rates were 149/night and she went to check and found that was available. So actually I would be paying 70 more per night for the free suite upgrade? I still haven't figured this out!
It is quite a chunk of change but the VIP Tour for HHN is really nice. We saw everything and most houses twice before midnight. I was like you, though, I could have slept standing on the sun and not notice the light.:sunny:

Party of six,

We checked out on October 2nd. Room 5040. King suite, pool view as well!

We thought the room was great. Very comfortable and a lot of room. I did notice the bubbling in the wall from the water splashing out of the shower and the door not automatically shutting itself as well. I remember thinking they were bad design faults. We forgot to pull the door completely shut quite a few times and we were in that room for 9 nights. Funny how the two rooms had the same problems. I cant say I had a light under the bed though! Was it the dimmer switch on one of the lamps above the headboard? Did you get a turndown service?

Pauldents that's too funny you had MY room and i bet i got yours.LOL When we checked in at 10'ish they issued me 5040 and i said could you plezzzze check for any room with any view that's ready now. He did and gave me 6100.LOL That's just so neat we are on the boards together and actually swapped rooms so to speak. I did'nt notice a dimmer on the headboard only a flip switch. The room was already turned down when we arrived there where zzzzzz cards on the bed with a rubber ball we put that in the suitcase and when we came back to the room they turned it down again and there where zz cards and a smiley face braclet. I have to say housekeeping was wonderful. We had ice in the room when we checked in and when they did turn down they refilled our bucket. We never called or asked for anything other than our packages the next day since it was check out day.

Robiva i totally agree last year was so much scarey but i loved this year too. I so want to do VIP next year.

Motherflecther can you tell me about VIP and what times they offered it costs and so on. We got express and tickets so we paid what 65 for tickets and 76 for express! YIKES surely that comes close to VIP right? We have decided next year we'll do two nights the first night i'd like to do VIP.

Party of Six, It's probably my fault you never got in that room! I requested a late checkout because we didn't fly till 9pm. I rang down to star service on the Saturday and they gave me a 2pm checkout.

I agree. Housekeeping was great. We had the bracelets, HRH luggage tags and fridge magnet HRH guitars left by houskeeping on the bed.

The VIP Tour starts at 7 but they ask you to be there at 6:30. Three members of our group were not there at 7 and we left without them. We met in the VIP lounge by guest services at the entrance to IOA. They took our party to the Back Water Bar at Confisco's to wait until 7. We had the best seats at Bill and Ted, went thru all of the scare zones and houses. We were able to re-do 4 houses. We rode Mummy, Hulk and Spiderman. We were on our own for a dinner/snack break at the parade site. The same 3 that were late caught up then wandered away from the group and we had to spend a little time waiting for them. At around 11 seven members of our group got separated and we never saw them again. Our guide was very knowledgable about Universal and answered any questions. She gathered us up before every house to explain what to expect. The Tour lasted until 12 on the peak night and ends at 11 on non-peak nights. Peak nights cost $120 plus your HHN ticket. You get a 10% discount with an Annual Pass. Non-peak nights are $100/person. Valet parking is included. I'm glad we went and found it was worth the extra cost for a one time thing. Our Tour Guide was Deanna and I would recommend her to anyone.

Thank you so much for you review of your VIP tour i highly think we'll do this next year. We paid about that same price with tickets and express. Did you have to purchase your HHN ticket and vip or would our ap's and vip get us in? Just wondering if you had to pay for the ticket for entry and vip. WE have ap's so just wondering about that. Thanks so much.

We had to buy the HHN tickets too, but got the APH discount. The only thing that I wish we would have received that the regular US/IOA VIP tours give out is the VIP Lanyards. That would be a nice momento. The regular tours also advertise water or coffee that was absent. Could have been because it was the first night.
