HRH post Xmas ressies a mess, what would you do?

Yes, I know I'm "late" trying to make a one night ressie for HRH on Dec. 27, but that'll be my bday, is it so much to ask to have a room? I have talked to three different people (at both HRH and Loews) in the past 24 hours who really seem to not know what to say or how to say it. The best I can determine is that there is now a four night minimum at that time to stay there, if ordered over the phone. The official internet site will let me make a one-night reservation at rack rate, but what it says are the cancellation policies differs from what the phone people say it is (they can't even believe the internet site will let me get one night only!). Dreamres states it can do one night at rack rate, also. As much as I love the idea of two days of FOTL (esp. at that busy time of year), is it worth all this hassle? $265 is double what I'm paying nightly the rest of our vacation (split between HIFS and onsite WDW), but I'll do it if I know there's no choice. Help!

You have to decide if it's worth the $$ to stay there. Obviously you will enjoy your trip a lot more with FOTL privelages during that time period since the lines will be very long. You will also enjoy late closing hours. However, you know your budget.

I have no doubt the hotel will sell out even at rack rate during that time period. So it is totally up to you whether you want to spend the $$!

A yoopermom is a mom who lives in Michigan's beautiful U.P. (now back to the scheduled topic...) The price isn't what's bothering me, so much as whether to trust Universal's online hotel reservation system. It's fairly expensive to cancel, so I don't want to make it, if I'm not sure. Thanks!
