I've read in a previous post that the pool at the hard rock was very shallow. I'm spilt my stay 4 nights at HRH and at the Contemporary in Disney 4 nights. My mother in law returned from the HR and loved it, but never mentioned the pool, when i asked her today she said "oh yeah it was very shallow"
My and my hubby love to swim, so this is dissapointing, my question is, can we go the PB to use their pool even though we are staying at HR???

When I was there is April you were allowed to use both hotel facilities while a guest at the HRH. Many people used the pools at both hotels.

The big pool at PBH is shallow too. I think every new pool being built is 4ft at their deepest. We were just at the Polynesian Resort at Disney and that new pool is only 4ft too. Some of the minor pools at PBH may be deeper, but we didn't try them when we were there.

How far of a walk is it to PBH from HRH? I've heard lots on these boards about the pools and would like to try it out when we go to HRH in June.:)

The PBH has three pools. The Beach Pool is similar to the HRH's pool in that it is all shallow, but the Villa pool and the Hilltop pool are both more conventional pools with a deep end.

The walk is about 10 minutes.

Unless you have four-foot arms, you should still be able to swim. ;)

Seriously though, I think the reason new pools are shallow these days is probably because of lawsuits. Maybe it's harder for lifeguards to see people in trouble in deeper pools.

Good one Kelly!
Can't get a "swimming Neanderthal" image out of my head now!
There's really too much activity in these pools for the serious exercising lap-swimmers anyway.

I wasn't really talking lap swimming, but we do love deep water. Thanks to all for the info and help!! :)

The pool is 4 1/2 feet at it's deepest. For those of us who like to float, chat and just chill it was perfect. There was also a very lively basketball game going on last night!

The best part though was the "hydro spas" at the end closest to the hotel. On each side of the pool they have basically jacuzzi jets - but in the pool so it was cool water. It was great to sit and relax in at mid day and after a day in the park. There was also a hot tub that DH enjoyed.
