Bit of background.
We've stayed at RPR several times and enjoyed it, no complaints. I noticed HRH is $30 more a night for basic 2 Queen room, is it worth the extra $30?

We don't mind the walk from RPR to the parks, but I do know HRH is closer.
We are staying for 4 nights, most of those days we will be in the parks using the EP's, but we do plan on spending time at the pool and resort. Is the pool at HRH nice? Nicer than RPR which we do like and also enjoy the pool bar food. We don't eat at hotel restaurants, I prefer citywalk and we usually just grab cereal in our room or something quick from Cinnabon.

Our kids are 6 and 9 when we visit (May 2025) I've already booked RPR but am wondering if we should change for something different??

Folks seem to love the HRH pool, it is very shallow but has a slide that is popular. You may prefer it if your kids value the slide as RP doesn`t have one.

The pool bar food there is as good as Bula Bar.

HRH is closer to Studios and RP is closer to IOA and the difference is minimal, you`re talking a couple of minutes difference. $30 a night is not a lot of difference so have a look and see what theme you`d prefer for the time you`re there.

HRH pool area is great. It's the smallest premier/deluxe hotel (or however Uni is naming it these days), so there are fewer folks competing with pool (and elevator/lobby) space. The rooms need a bit of a refresh, but it'll be clean and comfortable for your stay. For $30/night, I say mix it up.

I've now stayed at both & they are completely different "vibes."

HRH is lively & a bit loud even - very fun but busy.

RPR is also fun but has a more relaxed tranquil dare I say almost peaceful sort of thing going on - I would pick RPR personally because that's my preference for "feels" BUT I do think the HRH pool area is a bit larger & more active - it was certainly excruciatingly LOUD when we had a pool view room there, that's for sure.

I did find the little quick serve market at HRH to be MUCH better than the one at RPR if that makes a difference for you.

Remember that you can pool hop. DH and DS did so when we stayed at RPR and they really enjoyed the pool at HRH. I personally prefer the warmer and friendlier look of RPR but HRH is certainly attractive. Good luck deciding!
