Staying a couple of nights at a Universal Resort after the wedding

Best rates I have found - Travelhero

HRH - Deluxe King $194

or

RPR - Standard King $119

Which resort should I choose - my heart is leading towards the HRH but are the extra $$$ worth it !!!

Opinions please !

HRH is much closer to the parks - easily walkable, whereas, you would probably need to rely on the water taxis from RPH. Both are great resorts, but with a totally different feel. HRH is very hip and buzzing, RPH is relaxed and still had that 'shiny new' feel to it when we visited last October.

Did you stay in a standard or deluxe room at the HRH !

The standard garden view is coming up at $149.

Do you know what the significant differences are between the room types !!!

We've stayed in both a Club room (7th floor Concierge) and a standard garden view. The rooms themselves are identical and are 375 sq feet. The Club room had a pool view (which also gives you a view over the parks), but I wouldn't pay extra for that - the garden view was just as good and, without a balcony (there aren't any at HRH) how much is the view worth anyway? Concierge at HRH was OK, but not as good as AKL which we did the same trip.

The Deluxe rooms, however, are 500 sq feet and have bigger bathrooms. I haven't stayed in one, but I think we probably will next January.

These are pictures of our Garden View Room - we paid $153 AP rate.

We had a pool view room last October - a tad disappointed because we had to crane our necks to really see the pool - but being the saddo that I am;) I really enjoy showing people the photos of our room . . . . right underneath the Hard Rock sign on the hotel that you see from the pool:) :) The room itself was fabulous and, like Deb says, there aren't any balconies so it's not as if you can sit and watch the world go by.

Deb - your view from a garden view room looks lovely, might try for one of those this year.

We are just back from RPR. We were forever missing the boat to the parks so we walked most of the time. It was not a long walk and very pleasant. We loved the pool there. I used my AAA card for discount, but it still seems double what everyone else is paying!
