HRH - Garden View or Pool View?

The family (myself , wife and DDs 11 & 12 yo) are going to PB 4/3-4/10. It's our 3rd time staying at PB, and we have never stayed at any of the other resorts.

We are going to get preferred APs, and go again during Christmas break 2018. For our next trip would like to change things up with the resorts and stay at HRH. We have never stayed at HRH, but have walked the grounds a bit and ate at The Kitchen.

Right now there are Garden ($408) and Pool ($434) view rooms available on the SMSM discount. Having never stayed at HRH, what would our view likely be if we choose the Garden view room? I'd like to save $200 or so, but not at the expense of looking at a parking lot.

Also, if we opt for the Pool view, what room request would you recommend? At PBH, we have requested a view of the main pool and the West Wing, and have loved both our rooms.

Any other insight regarding room selection would be greatly appreciated. We love PB, but really feel we need to go a little out of our comfort zone, and the vibe at HRH does seem great :)

Personally, I prefer Garden view since it tends to be quieter, especially if you plan on taking midday breaks. If you do go with Pool View, I would request a higher floor.

We usually have garden view and it's fine. You don't see a parking lot- the self park is farther away. The closest to that is we've overlooked the hotel entrance but we're ok with that. I'd save the $$ and spend on a nice dinner.

We had garden view last time and it was on the ground floor facing the pool, but with some bushes. LOL. That must have been the garden, but it seemed more like a pool view to me. Perhaps pool view are the higher floors so you can actually overlook the pool? Just a guess.

Regardless, our view was fine and the room location had big pros and cons. We loved it because we were steps from the far side door entrance near the pool gate which was the closest exit point to the parks. It was also nice to step outside to see if it was hot or raining. It shaved off a few minutes of the walk when going back and forth to the parks. But we also hated it, because many people used that door as a cut through and since we were near the end of the hall, people walking in and out were very boisterous and loud at times. It was a busy hallway so noise was an issue.

Water view can be of the pool or water canal

Thanks Macraven!

I'm suprised the "Pool View 2 Queen Room" could potentially not have a view of the pool and only the canal. Even in the room description details on the US website it says this category offers pool views, and makes no mention of canal views.

For us, the view is not so important while staying at HRH. Since there is no balcony, we do not spend anytime looking out the window.

I would go for the cheapest view. We have had garden and pool views and neither made much of a difference.

What matters to us is room location. Agree with the above poster about staying in the far side door entrance near the pool gate, it's a great location. We did not notice any noise, but I can see where it could be noisy.

Agreed. Plus, I don't think there are any bad views at HRH.

I like the the view from the specific rooms
I favor the water views
3700 was one of my favorites as I had a view of the pool and the hrh lit up guitar sign from my window

Floor beneath 3700 has the same view and the trees/greenery does not block the views

I have a room location list but it is 7 years old now
A few of the rooms have limited views as the palm trees have grown and some of the views are partially blocked

Some of the garden views are great also
I did like the one facing the front of the building and could see the guitar fountain

Thanks Macraven, sounds like a great room.

A little off topic, but do the windows of the HRH rooms open?

None of the windows open

Ask any questions that you can think of

We have many great homies in the darkside forums that love to help all

All of us were new at one time and many guided us

I’m still grateful for their help
