Day 1

Cast

Myself 33 obsessive planner
DH 33 obsessive eye roller at all my planning

8:30 we are picked at WDW by TTC (prompt service unfriendly driver)...anyway we are on our way to the HRH so who cares if he is nice. We arrive and no one is outside to help us with our luggage. Sooooooo we just place it onto one of the bell man carts and take it up to the front desk ourselves...there was no line so I forgot to look for the Loews check in. Upon check in the clerk asked me what bell man was helping us with our luggage...I said there was not one outside and we just brought them in ourselves. At this time she proceeded to scold us and told us that the bell boy would have to take it to the room for us (which was ready that early in the morning) because of liability issues....I told her that was fine. She keeps going on about it, so finally I said "Would it be better if I wheeled the cart back outside and let the bellman bring it in"....I think at that point she realized I had enough of her scolding. She looked up our reservation and asked for the entertainment card (I had a garden view of $125 a night). At this time I asked her is there were any upgrades available and she said sure. We ended up in room 6054 which had a center view of the pool. She also asked me what we would like as a welcome gift (which was delivered that evening without any problems). So finally we are taken to our room, and the bell man goes on and on explaining everything (which was nice, but I was dying to get to the parks)...so we head over to IOA. We rode the following using the FOTL access and did not have wait times on anything....Hulk, Spiderman, Dr. Doom, Cat in the Hat, Poseidon's Fury and then headed to Mythos for lunch. (I will do a sep post with dining reviews). After lunch we rode Dueling Dragons, which had both sides running anytime we went by it, with no wait (FOTL) and then headed over and did the Jurassic Park River Adventure, again we walked on. Since we were already wet we headed over to Toon Lagoon and went on Dudley. We got absolutely drown. Since we were soaked and felt really sloppy we then headed back to the HRH for some R&R by the pool. After relaxing at the pool (slide was open but I could not hear any underwater music) we got dressed and heading off to dinner at Margarittaville and a movie at the Universal Cineplex. That is the end of day 1.

What fun!!!! Great report. Thank you for sharing.

Wow.. hard to believe there were no bellman around at HRH.. usually they ae all standing there like vultures when you arrive :p

The speakers in the pool are not all over the place... just over by the section nearest to the hotel entrance where the water jets are.. that is the only place we found that you could hear music underwater.

Thanx for your report

That's disappointing.... You would think with as much as they promote it, that it would be all over the place under water.

Thanks for the heads up.
