HRH Club vs. Deluxe

Planning on HRH during Easter week. Unfortunately, I got a 369.00/night rate. They are not honoring the Entertainment Rate for that week. There will be 5 of us, 2 adults, 3 children, 9, 12 and 15. Would the deluxe room be better for the extra room with older kids or do you think the Club with the continental breakfast? Is there enough to do there with IOA, etc. to keep from getting a car for 4 days? Thanks.

I can't speak as to the club rooms, but the Deluxe rooms are very large and comfortable, and would work great for 5 with the sofa bed. We spent 3 nights in October, and never moved the car from the time we checked in until the time we checked out, and could have comfortably spent even more time there without moving the car, so I think your family would also be fine without one. (I have never done Disney without a car). The closeness of City Walk with all its dining options really make this doable.

make sure to check hotelkingdom for room rates...

Our club level rooms have always just been two queen beds/no couch. It might be tight with five.

BUT, club doesn't just get you breakfast. You also get happy hour with a pretty good spread of food, cookies and milk before bed, all day sodas/juice/bottled waters. Also, we got a cabana by the pool for a day and it's half price if you're on club.

Just FYI. I travel by myself with two boys-2 and 4-and love the convenience of club level...

Whatever you decide, you will have a good time!!

Just to clarify: Club level gets you a continental breakfast but not a "full" breakfast.

Correct?

Deluxe vs Club: It depends on how much time you'll spend in the room and weather or not your family members are big eaters in the morning. DD and I could get by fine with continental bf but it would be enough for dh and ds.

You won't have to have a car. We always get one so we can eat off property if we want to. The kids like to eat at the Ponderosa in the morning (bleah!) but it's only about $22 family of 4.

I'm leaning towards the Club Level. I like the idea of the continental breakfast and the happy hour sounds good too. We aren't huge breakfast eaters, just the basics should suit us. Is it true they have Krispy Kreme donuts? With 3 hungry boys, you have to think of the food. I've never been in a cabana, locoexw, is it a tent type thing? Hotel Kingdom has the Club for $365.00/night. That week is just so expensive, but I don't want to pull my kids out of school either. Regarding the car, it sounds like everything is a close to walk the restaurants, etc. We are only staying 4-5 days and from what I've read, you have to pay $6.00/day for parking. Is there a car rental place close by to get a car to drive to our next hotel (Dolphin) from the HRH on our last day. From the sounds of it I will need a car at the Dolphin.

We are headed down to the HRH club level in 5 days!! Yippee..
We got the ALl-Access rate of $194.35. I was trying to book for Easter as well but no discounts at the HRH so I booked the RPH Club level for $223.00 Fan Club. If the HRH does offer discounts at Easter than I will switch. But I think the rate is good fopr the RPH and we can check it out next week. Maybe you could check out the RPH.

I'll have to check that out the RPH as well. What does the Club Level have to offer at the RPH? Are all of the on-site hotels right there on US/IOA property? Do they all have transportation to the parks? Are the rooms pretty much the same size? Heard alot of good things about the RPH too. If we don't get there this time, possibly the next, or we could split this visit up. I haven't looked up their web site as far as restaurants and pools on-site. These boards are great for advice/info. Thanks.

I read about the KK donuts but they didn't have them when I went. Maybe someone who's been more recently will know. There are rental cars at the Portofino Bay Hotel. I would confirm that by calling the hotel directly!

Check Expedia too. They had some great rates for our Sept stay. They may not have them posted now but keep checking back. We got RPR for $129 a night and I beleive they had HRH for $149 and PB for $199 but you got the 4th night free.

Entertainment rates are ONLY available when a hotel doesn't expect to be full. As my Entertainment book states: "Reservations with the Entertainment® discount will be accepted until the hotel projects 80% of their rooms to be sold for your requested dates." Unfortunately for you, they WILL be full Easter week. It isn't that they are not 'honoring' a promised discount, the discount is NOT available at that time.

Thanks for the reply Mary Ellen. As I stated, I realize they are not honoring that week because it is Easter week. I too read the fine print, and thought maybe someone out there might know of a different discount that might be out there. You won't know unless you ask, right? HRH is such a great hotel, I plan on staying there no matter what the rate.

I thought I would use it more for going out to eat, etc. I also need a car for going from the HRH to the Dolphin. If you have any suggestions, ideas, please send them my way. Thanks.
