Ya know the commercial where the guy goes through his wife's closet looking for something soft to wash his car with...well the top 3 items on dh's packing list for our trip are bug remover, tire and glass cleaner.

so, is there a regular parking lot we can just go to first to avoid the whole embarrassing "are you crazy, I'm not giving you my keys" thing?

No need to worry. Just drive up to the circle where you unload your luggage. A bell person will help you. You let them know that you will be self parking. When your luggage is unloaded, your DH can just drive the car away from the front door area and turn right into the parking lot. If he walks back towards the hotel once he parks the car, he will come to a stairway and elevator that will lead back to the front of the hotel.

Perfect! He'll probably park so far away, we'll be able to ride Spiderman before he catches up to us, LOL.

Thanks a bunch!

Hey, when are you going to be at HRH? Maybe, he'd wash my van. It needs it's yearly washing. :rotfl2:

Oh no, he'd rather brag about how much cleaner his is than yours, and it's only a 93' suv, not a sports car or anything, but we keep our cars until there's enough mileage on them to say that we could have gone to the moon and back "without a scratch" :rotfl2:

LOL :teeth: I have a BIL who's obsessed with keeping their vehicles clean also. The only time my van gets washed is when I leave it in their driveway for a few hours. :rotfl: I do that as often as possible. :rolleyes1 Too bad they live in NC & we live in FL. :p We keep our vehicles forever too. No car payment means more vacations. :woohoo:

When we stayed at the HRH the valet washed our car for us! I think it was $15-20 for wash, dry and vacuum. About the same as if you go to a carwash and have them do it for you. Our car was also parked up front most of the time we were there. That was :cool1: !

Snoopymom, I though my DH was the only one!!! :rotfl2: You know how they say you should aim to walk 10,000 steps a day? Well we do that everytime we go to the mall, since we probably park in the absolute farthest space from the entrance, LOL!!!

The "without a scratch" throws up a red flag here. HRH's parking is so limited that they bus there own employees in. Self-parking spaces can be kind of hard to find. So if he wants to park away from others to avoid the door dings HRH is not a good parking lot.

Thanks for the warning. We're planning on getting there super early on a Thursday morning so maybe he'll get lucky.

If I remember correctly, midday is the best time to find a parking space there. By then, people have checked out & some of the others haven't arrived yet. That's also when people tend to be off property in their cars. I really hope he finds a space he's happy with. It would be a shame to have the trip dampened by him getting upset over the vehicle. Here's some pixie dust (sorry Universal) to help you find a good, far away parking space. pixiedust:

Thanks, you're too kind. I feel like an idiot for all the planning I do sometimes, but y'all never seem to think a question is too uptight or stupid, and see, now I can tell dh ahead of time that he'll probably have a hard time finding a spot and it might save us a few minutes of bickering, especially since adding an extra night at the HRH onto our week in a villa was all my idea. :goodvibes

Yep and the grocery store...we practically park at the gas station in front of it. It takes me so long to run the cart back that he picks me up, LOL.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!
