HRH 8/22 to 8/24

just back from a long trip to orlando. I will only post about the HRH hotel though!!!!

I had booked club level and then downgraded to a standard view and was not dissapointed. I checked in at 4:15 and the room was not ready. we hung out a bit in the check in area and got into the room about 4 forty five.

the room appeared to be immaculate love the new flat screen tv's! the kids as usual said they loved this hotel!! it was late at this point and we went to the pool for a few hours had one drink. at a whopping14 including tip. But what the heck It's my 1 drink in 3 years since my last HRH vist.

The pool was very crowded.. the only issue I had was one of my 7 year olds was told he was to short to use the slide without a bubble. Well lets just say since he has been able to swim since 3 years old. and his twin didn't need a bubble, he flipped and refused to swim again. so he played in the sand.
we booked the kitchen to see Scooby and Shrek. once again some of you may recall from my last trip. the characters had left early and we never saw them. The kids seemed to take it in stride though.
that night however...... we were in bed and my dd said somthing bit her. turn on the lights and there were red ants you could actually see. in both beds and crawling on the combined headboards. noone answered at the desk so i went down stairs. Where a sweetie of a manager raj.. changed our room/ we did have to change rooms at 1am that was a drag! as we started back to the elevator a very, very irrate woman arrived. also with ants reportedly in her clothes etc. she was in 7032, or 7031 i was in 6031, clearly there was an issue in that section. I left before they resolved her issue....

the new rom was great no issues and Raj had refunded $$ on each night which i did use on account to upgrade to power passes. So smart move on his part.. despite the ants we will be back.:thumbsup2
 
Thanks for sharing your experience...that is awful about the ants :scared: but, I'm glad they took care of you right away (even if it was 1am....can't stay there with kids :sad2: )

I hope it doesn't deter you from staying again....did they comp you anything for your inconvenience? (If you'd rather not say, that's okay....I understand)
 
Wow rotten about the ants, glad it was sorted though although must have been really annoying to change rooms at such a time
 
Actually i was comped half the room rate for the night. which was smart bussiness on HRH's part. because I simply used the credit to upgrade my passes to annuals. Simply means we will definately come back next summer.:thumbsup2

Actually it made for a funny story when we got home. I did not actually mind moving at that time.. The kids were all awake and watching pay per view movies.
like I said stuff happens... I was grossed out but it happens and the customer service was grerat. raj was a great guy and handeled himself very well. i think it also helped that i was very calm and just wanted a new room.

As for the parks my smaller sons were tall enough for everything they wanted to do so it made for a very enjoyable 2 days at the parks.
We are trying to decide our dates for next summer so all is well!

A life jacket. it did not matter that he has been swimming for 3-4 years. apparently it was by height. he took great exception to being made to wear one! LOL
