Good lord this was an awful ride!!!!! I usually don't get motion sickness but whoo this was a doozy! Almost 2 hrs later and I feel blech! Thank god I didn't lose my lunch though! When they warn you that if you have motion sickness don't ride, they ain't kidding!!!!!!

Awww what a bummer! I love that ride but yes I can see how it can cause motion sickness. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Makes me sick too unless I take motion sickness meds first. Seems to be the case with quite a few people.

The ride is very well done but like you, I find it to be one of the worst for motion sickness also.

So glad I'm not prone to motion sickness cause I love this ride! Can't wait to ride it again :)

So sorry it made you feel terrible!!! It is a lovely ride if it doesn't bother you, but unfortunately, it does seem to bother quite a few :(

I know a lot of people swear by motion sickness meds in the parks, as so many rides involve motion and screens these days. Also ginger is supposed to helps (they make gum, chews, hard tack, soda, etc)

Best of luck, and hope the rest of your trip is grand!

I post this quite frequently, but I'll post again... I tried FJ with Dramamine and almost hurled. Then, I got a prescription from my doc for a patch you wear behind my ear and I felt nothing! I was jumping for joy after FJ when I could ride it and not be sick. Unfortunately, whilst I was jumping, the guy next to me was hurling....

I appreciate your posting and candid feedback. Think I will have to skip this one because I do get motion sickness. Hope rest of trip is great!:goodvibes

I find it interesting how many people seem to make posts about this issue, yet for me it's one of the best simulators in my opinion. Of course, I never have motion sickness at all, but out of all the simulator rides at Universal (and even at Disney), it seems to be the most smoothest in my opinion when it comes to movement and most comfortable.

I agree that if you are at all inclined toward motion sickness, FJ might be a problem. I can't go on the teacups or the spinning version of Mission Space, but I've never had a problem with Spiderman or Star Tours or any of the other "simulator" rides I've been on. So I was surprised the first time I rode FJ. Loved the ride, hated feeling like I was going to lose my lunch. For some reason it was better the second time I did it. Next visit I'll be trying Dramamine.

After the first screen shot I did close my eyes but it was too late. Definitely a great ride just not for those with motion sickness!

Another option is to just close your eyes during the screen parts.

I had trouble my first trip on FJ (although not as bad as my first trip of Mission Space). Closing my eyes, especially on that first screen, really helped. After my first experience, I studied the Youtube videos so I knew where the screen parts started and finished. It is an amazing ride. If at all possible, I'd try to find a way to ride it.

Hmmm... My wife and older daughter, both of which are looking forward to the HP rides, both get motion-sick very easily. They usually take non-drowsy Dramamine before every amusement park visit (as well as every long car ride...) and are OK, as long as they don't ride two large rides in close proximity. This has got me worried, though - I'd hate to have them both sick right off the bat (we are expecting to do FJ during early entry).

FJ and Simpsons seem to be the worst 2 rides in the park for inducing motion sickness. It's an awful feeling and hard to understand if you've never experienced it.

Dramamine and such seems to help most folk with this........FJ I can do twice with meds, the closing eyes thing doesn't work for me as I still feel the movement........wish it did help.

If they do FJ straight away and they do feel bad, sit somewhere air conditioned for a bit.......have some ginger candy with them as it does help with that nausea feeling. And sips of water.

The Dramamine should help though. It is such a good ride to experience I hope they love it!

Sit in the middle between them. Warn them that if they start to feel nauseous to close their eyes when they see Harry flying. You can tap them on the leg when the screens are done. Just prepare and have a plan.

It makes me green and queasy if I'm under or over fed. Or if I'm dehydrated. Basically I have to time my ride perfectly between meals. :)

Since the ride itself has a lot of motion, my trick of closing eyes (as I do for Simpsons during some of it or even Soarin sometimes) doesn't work. It's tossing me around too much.

I get motion sick quite easily (especially in cars), but for whatever reason I can cope just fine with Forbidden Journey. Sometimes I'm a bit wobbly getting off, but nothing lasting. I love that ride!

Even if you're prone to motion sickness, I think it's worth giving the ride a try. It might not bother you. :)

I'm ok on this ride as long as I don't ride it too many times in a row. My son & I rode it over & over last month. The single rider line was non existent for awhile. I think my limit was like 4 or 5 times in a row. I just couldn't do it anymore. I got very nauseous right away & had to close my eyes for the last ride.
