how's your luck been with email reservations?

I'm just curious for those who have used the fairly new method of emailing their reservation requests in, how was your experience? Especially once you got to the park and were actually there for your meal, did they have a record of your reservation there?

The reason I ask is that I'm a little concerned about this system and its accuracy... for our trip I have now made three seperate reservations (in three different email exchanges) and twice, the response I got from Disney Dining was all wrong.

For example I'd email something along the lines of:

"Hi, I'm looking for a reservation at the Carnation Cafe on X date at X time for a party of 2."

And in response I would get:

"We have confirmed your reservation at Cafe Orleans for a party of 2."

So then I'd have to email back asking them to fix it and confirm it - and in this case their confirmation email did not include a date so I had my doubts about that. I asked them to fix the restaurant and confirm my date/time, they emailed back confirming the correct restaurant but not my date. All I can do is hope? :confused3

And just today I emailed requesting a reservation for Cafe Orleans, and received a response confirming a reservation for Carthay Circle! So now I'm trying to fix that too...

Has anyone else been getting this confusion, and did it all turn out OK when you turned up to eat at the park anyways?

I've only used it once, but it worked perfectly. It was for Surf's Up and they had our reservation when we arrived.

My suggestion is start a new email and list all of you resevations, the dates, the times, the place (bolded) and your confirmation numbers. Ask that they all be cross-checked for accuracy. Although they shouldn't have messed them up the first time, sending multiple emails can sometimes get confusing.

Good idea! I'm also going to print out all my emails and have them with me for reference just in case!

I used it twice in June. Once before we left for our trip and once when we got there for dinner the next day. Everything went just fine. I was a little worried about the reservations for the next evening, but it went prefect. :):cool1:

I actually just call in my ressies, then e-mail them (with name and phone # reservation is made under) to get my confirmation #'s.

I have made 7 reservations via email for my trip in August, and each went well every time with no problem. Instead of writing all my reservation info in a sentence format, I listed everything out such as date, restaurant, time, # of people, my name and phone number on separate lines.

I used it for our trip in June and it worked perfectly. I sent all of my requests on one message and got a reply within about 30 minutes. I printed out the email to have with me when we went to check in each time, but I never needed it or my confirmation number. They had me on their list by name.
