We will be staying one night at Universal on 8/6 to take advantage of EE and express pass. We are a group of 10 who will be arriving in 3 groups throughout the day. I'm the chief planner but my family of 4 is arriving last. We hope to be in the park by 6:00 pm while the other 6 should be there around 11:00 am.
My family have done Universal before so our priority is Harry Potter. The other 6 have not so it's good that they will arrive early in the day. I've suggested to them that since they expect to enter the park around 11, they might want to use their express pass to check out everything they're interested in besides HP since those areas will likely be crowded already.
We plan to meet for dinner at the Leaky Cauldron at 6 and then explore a bit. If Diagon Alley is too busy that evening then we will head on to Hogsmead and save Diagon.
8/7- We will drop our luggage at Bell services and be headed to the park by 6:00 am. We will head straight to Gringotts at opening. We will ride that and then see whatever we didn't the night before. Is Olivanders open? It doesn't show a wait time on my line app. We will have a late breakfast/early lunch at Leaky Cauldron or Three Broomsticks depending on where we ate the night before.
