We're planning a trip the week of October 22. The last couple times we went in either November and December, and the crowds and weather were fantastic! What should I expect this week? Light jackets at night? Sweating profusely during the day ;) ? I know it's the Food and Wine Festival also at that time - does that affect everything or just Epcot?

Thanks!

I've never toured WDW during that time frame so I'm just going to bump this back to page one for you.

We'll be there just before you and I can hardly wait. :cool1:

We've gone several times over Columbus Day weekend and have found the weather to be delightful. Warm but not too humid during the day. I don't think we even needed sweaters in the evening although I would certainly pack a sweater or light jacket just in case.

Crowds will probably be heavier than Nov. and early Dec. but still not bad.

This trip we're going a few days after Columbus Day and will leave shortly before you arrive. Have fun. :sunny:

We went last year from October 17 - October 27. The weather was perfect. It was in the 80's during the day and in the 60's during the evenings. The humidity was low and comfortable. It only rained one night during our stay.

The crowds were not that bad except for MK on Saturday nights. During that time of year it's one of only two nights during each week that they have Spectromagic so the crowds swell on that night.

The crowds at Epcot were not that bad during F&W. The lines at the food booths were not that long, but we went duing the week to avoid the locals who attend on weekends.

My DH and I are going back this year from Oct. 18 - Oct. 26. This will be our first ever trip without the kids, who are now 21 and 23. Can't wait for October to come!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

I'm glad I found this thread! :goodvibes We're going on Oct. 28th and I was wondering how bad the crowds were and how the weather was! :maleficen :maleficen :maleficen :maleficen

we went oct 20th throught the 26th last year. the weather was great. we didnt even have to break out the sweatshirts or jackets. the food and wine festival was great. during the week there were hardly any crowds at the festival. During the weekend the f &w festival was pretty busy but managable. the test track and mission space were walk ons all week. mnsshp was fun also. we got to ride the haunted mansion all by ourselves. very spooky :maleficen if you go to the mnsshp see the fortune tellers.....mine was right on. very cool. all rides were walk ons and we rode big thunder mountain railroad several times in a row.

i dont know if the funnai (sp?) golf classic is during this time frame this year but it was there last year. we didnt experience any crowd increase or any problems with the hotel (AKL) due to the classic. in fact i wouldnt have even known it was there if someone hadnt mentioned it on the boards. this was a very fun time to go all rides had hardly any waits. i will miss going this year. have a great time.

Love October at WDW. So sad we did May this year.

Expect loads of people from UK. (they will be wearing England Soccer shirts!)

The weather is just right. The crowds are just right. Perfect time to go. Was there last October from 20th for 2 weeks.

It should be moderate crowds as long as the golf classic isn't that week. Then there will be summer like crowds.

The gold classic will have just ended on the 22nd. We'll be there from the 30-30th and planning on keeping an eye on weather channel 10 forcast before we go. This will be our first October trip and I am looking forward to having "just perfect" temperatures.

Why there will be loads of people fom England?

There will be loads of people from UK at it is our school holidays.

In fact I am trying to book a flight for next October 2006 (over 14 months away) and they are selling out fast. The flights are three times more expensive but there is so much demand they can get away with it.

We are off to Disneyland Paris this October and I know it will be freezing!

Sounds pretty good to me.. We are going 22nd to 2nd nov Just finished making our ADR`s ...Roll on October :maleficen

We're leaving on Oct 22nd for a week there as well. We went in that time frame in 2003, the weather was great and the crowds were managable. And like others have said, lots of people from Britian there.
