How's the week between Thanksgiving and the first weekend in December?

I know Thanksgiving weekend is generally pretty busy. And the first two weeks of December are not as busy. But I want to know what it's like the week after Thanksgiving week up to the first of December? Is this a good time to go? I know the decorations are up and we are wanting to go to MVMCP during this week.

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

We were in WDW at this time last year. My boyfriends father lives in Orlando so we were down for about two weeks. We went down 11/20, the Saturday before Thanksgiving and stayed until 12/4. We stayed at the WL for a few days prior to Thanksgiving but never made it into the parks. We really enjoyed the WL so much that everytime we said we would go to the parks we never made it. We did visit some of the other hotels that week to check out all their Christmas decorations though. We did go to Downtown Disney Thanksgiving evening. I have never seen that place so crowded. We must have driven around the parking lot for 30 minutes before finding a place to park.

We attended MVMCP on 11/30, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and it was pretty empty. We did the parks that whole week, including Sea World, and it was really not too bad. You should also check out Epcot and do the Holiday's Around the World, the Candlelight Processional and the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. At MGM you should check out the Osborns lights and the afternoon parade. At AK they do the Jamin Jingle Parade.

This is a great time to go to WDW.

This will be our 3rd year going that exact week :cool1: We think its a perfect time to go! We arrive on the Saturday after Thanksgiving but avoid the parks that day. The crowds are fairly heavy on Sunday but get thinner with each passing day until Friday rolls around and they pick back up for the weekend.

That's our favorite week of the year! We usually get there the Saturday after Thanksgiving. (We drive down on Friday, traffic is very light). We stay for the week leaving the first Sat in December. We've hit weather where the highs were in the upper 80's and we've hit it where the highs were in the 70's. Either way, better than PA weather at that time of year and my kids swim no matter what when we're there. The crowds are very manageable. The longest wait we ever had was for test track, and that was about 45 minutes. Disney is beautiful with it's Christmas decorations!! I know it's getting late, but we're still trying to figure out if we could swing a vacation that week this year yet. Enjoy!

We were in Punta Gorda, FL for the beginning of that week, and Disney for the end, last year.

We went to MVMCP on the Thursday night, and walked onto almost everything. We also were able to stay on rides for a second run without getting off!

We are planning on going back that week in 2006 (with an obscene amount of family members) as a post wedding celebration (We are getting married the Saturday after Thanksgiving in Punta Gorda!) :cloud9:

Thanks for all the replies so far. When some of you are saying the crowds are manageable, do you mean like May crowds manageable or summer time crowds manageable?

It sounds like a great time of year to go with all the decorations. We're also thinking 2006.

We were also thinking about going that week, or possibly the second week in November. But I went to Weatherunderground.com (?) and statistically the "average temp was 61 the first week of december" BURRRRRR........... I live in New York and if I am going to spend that kind of money, I want to be warm and comfortable using the waterparks, pools,etc............. Do you think the 2nd weekend in november would be "low crowds" and decent weather?

thanks :) :goodvibes either way, we will be in Disney next year !!!!!!!!!!!!! :earseek: :cool1: :rotfl2: :cool1:    ::MinnieMo :earsboy:

We are arriving that Saturday, also. We aren't heading to the parks until Monday hoping the big crowds will be thinned by then. We will be there through the next weekend so sounds like we need to prepare for more people that Sat. & Sun. Maybe it won't be TOO bad... :rolleyes1

Last year we went in early Dec. the parks and resorts were beautiful. The only downside is we were there for an unseasonably cold week (winter coats were needed), and needed to scramble to find hats and gloves. This definitely is a nice time to be at Disney but the weather can be an issue. We are skipping Disney this Dec. but plan to go in 06 and are just hoping for warm weather.
