How's the tap water in Anaheim?

I'm getting our bags all packed and I'm trying to decide whether to take along our water bottles for the parks, or buy bottled water at the grocery store when we get there. Any opinions on the taste of Anaheim's tap water? I'm used to drinking tap water here at home, but if Anaheim's water is pretty bad, :crazy2: it would be nice to know ahead of time. ::yes:: Thanks!

Everyone has their own tastes, but I don't like it. We buy water at the grocery store and bring in our own bottle water. I saw several people with Brita water bottles (one with the filters), but don't know how they would work.

Disney bottle water is now $2.75 for a 20 oz Dasani at DL.

We always take bottled water with us. You can carry your own water into the parks too. It is much cheaper in the hotel mini-marts than in DL/DCA. So Cal water is very chlorinated:eek:

If you're asking in reference to the kerosene, I mean water, at WDW - DL water is fine. It doesn't have the high sulfur content that you find at WDW. It might not taste as good as home. But it's drinkable.

LOL. I was just going to say "well, it is better than Florida's... "
I'd say the water is ok. Bottled water is much preferred but, if it's all you got, then it'll do.

Well said, Snurk71. LOL Okay, I'll admit it, in the back of my head I actually was kind of wondering how DL's water compares with WDW's. Several years ago I ignorantly filled my water bottle at Epcot and now I probably won't ever do THAT again. :crazy2: LOL I think we'll probably go ahead and get bottled water at the store since we haven't had a chance to do a DLR "taste test" yet. ;) Thanks for the replies, everyone!

So chunky you can eat it with a fork, but use a spoon, to get every last drop.

Anaheim water is just nasty.

I will not drink the water in anaheim "straight" but it is okay for fountain drinks and tea etc.

Now in Florida/WDW I had to buy bottled sodas and make my tea with bottled water.

YUCKY!

But I never drink tap water unless I desperate, would rather pay $3 for a bottle.

I did just buy a Brita sports bottle that you can put tap water in and it filters it, I guess you can add ice too. I haven't used it yet, but read about it on the Budget board here at the DIS.

Last time we went to DL I bought the Brita sports bottle. The first day we bought everyone bottled water and then kept the bottles. Then at night I would fill those bottles with tap water that I poured through the Brita filter and froze the bottles. Had cold water and kept the costs down. Carried the sports bottle for refills for anyone who needed more water from the park fountains.

one word for you............ YUCK!

You can bring your own water bottle in(DL employees have never given me and my hubby any trouble for this). Buy your water inside the park ($2.50 for small bottle and $4.50 for large bottle)or you can also pick up the Brita sport-n-go bottle. It has a filter on the top and it's about $5.00 at walmart/target. You can just fill up and go wherever you are at the park(s).

Hope that helps!!!!princess:

Has anyone ever bring in little ice chest into Disneyland? Does the gate give you problem with these? Thinking be a good idea to bring one in to keep the water bottles cold.

You can bring small soft-sided coolers in, but not hard-sided ice-chests.

I havent had Anaheim water in over 25 years, and I it was pretty bad back then..... sad to see it hasnt changed

Maybe it's because we live in Saskatchewan where distillers are necessary for drinkable water, (otherwise, "revolting" isn't a strong enough word..) but we found the water in Anaheim to be okay. If you're used to bottled water then you might have a problem, but we had no issues whatsoever with it.

Just got back from Disneyland last night. We bought bottled water from Target. The tap water was cloudy. We freeze the bottles at night and brought along a soft ice chest and would just refill with the drinking fountain water. No problem at all with the Disney employees. I've seen others bring in the hard Igloo ice chest.
