Well thank you. How compassionate you are!
Bless you little heart

I don’t either. Never have. I have always done it myself, until I couldn’t. But then I worked out of it and was independent again.
This is t about anyone expecting anyone to take care of them. This is about people that have jobs which IS part of personal responsibility and are either not getting paid to work or not getting to work. Very different from expecting someone to take care of them.
NONE of us would have money to take care of ourselves without jobs.
Is he not paid by the GSA pay schedule?kdonnel is wrong about workers not yet missing a paycheck until the 11th.
Not in the least.Nah, this poster clearly has "personal responsibility" and is therefore impervious to bad stuff happening.

Well, you told us then. And all those foolish people facing terrible circumstances. Guess you can go to sleep tonight feeling superior. Good on you.Not in the least.
I know at any moment I could be overwhelmed financially if something bad enough happens.
I have said repeatedly that I understand there are exceptions.
But I think it is foolish to not try to prepare.
Foolish to think that if you can't prevent the worst case you shouldn't try to prevent any case.
Foolish.
Your anger is concerning.Well, you told us then. And all those foolish people facing terrible circumstances. Guess you can go to sleep tonight feeling superior. Good on you.
Can you provide a link to articles or other proof that the federal workers impacted by this shutdown have taken $5,000 vacations? And if they did, that makes them evil because? And it is about THOSE WHO CAN PREPARE, SHOULD.
Look you all can keep coming up with stories about why people cant prepare, and disregard the fact that there are people out there who just choose not too because they would rather not think about. They'd rather buy the latest iphones and take $5000 vacations instead of putting money aside for emergencies. Those are the people I am talking about, they should be preparing for what they know could happen.
There are people who get off on feeling morally superior to other people. I've been very fortunate in my life, but unlike people who think they "deserve' all the financial fortune they have, I recognize a great deal of LUCK in where I am in my life. Lots of decisions I made which turned out to be good, but could just as well gone south. It's a lot of luck. I don't consider myself "morally superior" to other people. Just luckier. My children are healthy. My husband and I are healthy. We've never been involved in a serious accident or had any sort of catastrophic financial setback. These are matters of luck. And anyone who thinks otherwise is just waiting for karma to bite them in the rear.Well, you told us then. And all those foolish people facing terrible circumstances. Guess you can go to sleep tonight feeling superior. Good on you.
Interesting. Not all agencies use that. This has an extensive listing of pay periods and pay datesL

Not one person here ever said that anyone who can shouldn’t prepare. What they have said is that not everyone can prepare. I don’t think you disagree with that. I do think you have an unrealistic idea of how many can and do not.
SFO has opted to use Covenant Aviation Security instead of the TSA directly. As such SFO is unaffected by the shutdown. What I don't know is if the Covenant pays more or less then what the TSA previously paid.Just would like to put out there that if you already have debt, and you're making about $20 an hour as a TSA agent (per the estimate in this thread), working at an urban airport such as JFK or SFO, where the COL is pretty high and you probably need to take public transportation to work, it's not exactly being "foolish" if you don't have much left over to save, it just is what it is.
I don't react with anger when someone has a different opinion. That's the best you've got? I'm not angry. You have the right to your opinion. I just don't share it. Is this how you react to anyone who doesn't agree with you? That they are disturbed? That seems messed up to me. Just saying. You do you. No skin off my back.
