How's the last week of April?

Welcome to the DIS. I'm very glad that you found us and I hope you can visit often.

I've never toured WDW during that time frame. I'm just going to bump this back to page one for you so that some of our veterans can give you an answer.

I psted this to another thread as I am, too, going to be there the last week of April. It looks to be a great week to be going. Read the post carefully and goto the website link I've provided:

This past Sunday thru today is inline with every other year. Look at the following webpage as it is your very best reference as to what to expect while you are there:

http://www.touringplans.com/BestDays.htm

The crowds during these past few days rank up there at 6-8 out of 10 which is pretty nasty.

The last week of April looks good as this is when the crowds finally thin out from the 4 rank to the 3's. I think it will be very manageable. I've got reservations at the resort April 24th (only crowded day) - April 30th. In 2001 I was there the last week of Februaury and was hit with crowd levels of 5. While very manageable at this level, they were somewhat annoying at times.

In 1993 I was there in early May and experienced the least crowded times I had seen since vacationing at the resort. Those days rank in the 3's so I am hoping for the same decent experience this time around.

Rule of thumb....avoid any park with the extra magic hour as almost all on-site resort guests will show up on that day. Those people alone could reach upwards of 25,000 people as there are just over 25,000 rooms at Disney hotels.

i just have to let you know that new york and some other schools have off the last week of april this year due to passover comming so late.. so this year the last week of april may be a little more crowded! :confused3

My son and I will be there the last week of April. I'm not following any of the touring plans. I believe most of them assumed that spring break would be over by the end of the month.

However NYC, some Long Island, NJ, and some other Northeast school systems are all out that week.

I don't believe the crowds will be anything near as bad as the two weeks around Easter, but they won't be as low as they've been in the past.

We're staying on site and I plan to take advantage of every EMH that's offered during our stay. :cool1:

Last year we were there during Easter break. By using EE and fastpass, we were able to avoid lines and stay ahead of the crowds. :moped: If that plan was able to work during the peak Easter season, it just has to work during regular season. :wizard:

I know that the UG takes into account different school district spring breaks with the crowd level #'s. They were aware that a small portion of the country has a break the last week of April.
