How's the fishing at FW?

My DH the "fishing nut" of the household would like to fish at FW next month when we visit WDW.
Has anyone fished there lately? And what did you catch? What type of bait/lure did you use?
He's not looking to do one of the fishing excursions, just do his own thing. Like at home.

Or as we call 'em here in Louisiana "Green Trout"! Used a blue and silver rattle trap... got a coupla hits, landed one. But we've found the better fishing in the lake behind the contemporary Hotel. Took clients on a guided tour last year. We caught 11 bass amoung us, the smallest was 6 lbs! "Mules!!!" Well worth the cost to fish in the shadow of the castle and you can arrange for your guide to pick you up at the wharf. You'll love it!

We have fished at the pond right by the Meadows trading post. We catch HUGE sunnies and crappies! We've never brought "bait" with us, so we fish with pieces of raw bacon or hotdogs! Remember, it's catch & release only!

We have a huge pond right outside our house and all DH does is catch and release. He wouldn't EAT a fish if his like depended on it!! LOL
