Hello: How is the concourse steakhouse and where is it located in the contemporary?

deb.

We have ressies there this weekend, I'll let you know when we get back. I've eaten there before and it was pretty good

It is located on the fourth floor concourse in the tower. We really enjoyed our meal there. WE had crab cakes, filet (which was really good and tender) with mashed potatoes with onion frizzies(which were also good) and for dessert: cream brulee (yummy). The two kids split chicken fingers and fries and had light up drink. We would go back again.

We did not like it. The food was actually fine. The service was not. We brought another family there and we were a bit embarrassed. We did complain, however, and the manager gave us all dessert! I guess that pretty much made up for it. I think the toughest thing besides the service for me was the noise.

It is an "open-air" restaurant -- meaning that it has low walls around it but is otherwise open to the 4th floor concourse where all the shops and Chef Mickey's are, so it has a real hustle/bustle, city-feeling to it. (That may be why previous poster found it too noisy, which would be understandable.) That said, we loved it (we've stayed at Contemp. twice, happily). Food was simple but good, our service experience was lovely, and we felt overall pleasantly surprised by it.

We went while there in October. Food was very good - filet, prime rib, sirloin, kiddie filet, kiddie grilled chicken for main course. Salads, onion soup, and chicken wings appetizers. All the food was fresh and excellent but we thought that for the price it lacked service. All courses including salads took over 20 minutes to receive which would have been okay for main course but desserts and appetizers took forever...not something you want to happen when you are dining with 2 toddlers. That said we would only try it again if staying at the Contemp. otherwise we would try another steak restaurant in WDW first. Food A+ /Service C/Atmosphere B+ - fun to watch the monorail coming through.
