Has anyone seen the movie in China? I understand it's a fairly new one, certainly not like the dated one in Canada. How much of the country to you see? I'm especially interested in opinions on anyone who might have been to China as to how realistic a portrayal it is? DH travels to Shanghai often, so I keep meaning to see the movie. Unfortunately, though, I never quite get "round tuit".

We enjoy it. In fact, we usually see it twice while we're at WDW. We did prefer the old one. One thing that's kind of cheesy about the new movie is the way they've blended old footage of the poet with a new voice. There are a number of times where the poet's lips do not match his words.

The new movie is at least 1/3 shorter than the old. You get the feeling that your "tour" of China is a bit rushed. I can understand why a new movie was necessary, however, with Hong Kong and Macao now part of China.

My wife and myself really enjoy the movie. They finally changed it last year so it was nice to see a new movie this past Dec.

Thanks for the info, we have attempted to see this in the past but DS's steer us away from it saying they are on vacation from education, even though we do drag them to other "educational" attractions saying there is no such thing as a vacation from education! We are going to see it this trip.

We enjoyed this move a lot. My children, who were 9 and 11 last summer, also saw it. It kept their attention and they did not complain about the movie like they complained about the movie in France.

We saw this movie in December for the first time in years. It has been updated in the past year or so. It's certainly not something I would need to see on each visit, but the film is good, and the pavilion is beautiful and well worth a look.:earsboy:
