I've been to WDW only twice. Each time we stayed at the Pop, and loved it! This time I'm going with DS(8), my friend and her DS(8). (My DH is overseas :sad1: ) And the boys picked the Sports. Do I have anything to worry about? Is it too crowded? How about buses? Which building should we request? Please help!!

Request Touchdown-it is the closest non-preferred. And building 7 is being refurbed. It is the first of the Allstars to pick up and be dropped off. We loved it last summer, and are staying there again for Thanksgiving. Very clean, great food court, and towel animals every day!

***Tried to post pics, but still figuring out how!

I would love to know too I will be there for the first time in Dec.

Buses for ASSports are pretty good because even though you share with ASMusic and ASMovies, you'll get picked up first on the way to the parks so you should get a seat, and you'll also get dropped off first on the way back from the parks.

We found the bus wait times to be absolutely terrible. Felt like, for the values, we were livestock being herded into a pen. ASSp is the only WDW resort we have ever stayed at and it was enough to make us want to upgrade to a moderate. Having said that, the food court wasn't half bad.

In our experience, bus service is hit and miss regardless of what resort you're at-we had terrible service at the Contemporary, but this year at Music it was excellent!

I imagine you'll have a great time regardless of where you are though :) Have a wonderful trip!!

we stayed at the sports last december and loved it!!!!!!
It was not too crowded but probably because it was off-season!!
The buildings are very beautiful and you just have that Feeling that you are at Disney!!!!:wizard:
We stayed at the baseball area and it was really great because we had a pool view and at the same time it was close to the parking lot!!The only disadvantage is that it's pretty far from the main building and the food court so it was kinda boring to have o go down at 6 am and walk to get the food!!!:rolleyes1

You should not second guess the sports it is really a great value resort!!!!!;)

Was there in Sept and we had a great stay. Decided to save the $$ and stick with values from now on.

I do agree with the previous poster who mentioned bus service being hit or miss no matter where you stay. We did have quite a wait for a bus to DTD on our first night there and that had me concerned, but the rest of the 8 days were fine.

I just came back today from a really quick trip (Fr-Monday) to Disney and stayed at ASSports. As long as you aware of the size of the rooms (They are basically 2 beds, a chair with a small table, drawers, sink, and a small bathroom) you should be fine. There was only 3 of us so that was OK (and besides how much time do you spend in your room other than sleeping!). We paid a little extra to stay in Surf's up. Our room was definitely NOT refurbished and was in need of it. One of the beds felt like it was broken (probably from kids jumping on it). We had a great location facing the pool and close to the lobby/buses so we decided to just stick it out.

If you don't mind crowds (which I definitely do) you will be fine. The cafeteria is PACKED around 8:45-10:00 AM. It's a pretty small area to get your food too so you always feel like your running into people. The next day we went at closer to 7:15 AM and it was a totally different story - not crowded at all. Lunch was pretty empty and dinner was not very crowded either.

The buses were crowded during peak times but they usually don't stop anywhere else a few years back I stayed at PO and they stopped at the CBR which made the trip a lot longer. Each Allstar has its own bus during peak times for the major parks but I think DTD and water parks likely share theirs with the others Allstar Resorts.

I think this is probably the training ground for a lot of CM since they seemed a little on the immature side. For example: When I called to ask if I can get a few extra towels since we used ours at the pool; she responded with a "No" with about a 5 second pause until she said "I'm just playing with you of course". I'm sure they don't do that at the Grand Floridian :rotfl:

As long as you have patience for a few things like that you and your family should be fine.
