How's Saratoga Springs Selling?

I was wondering how Phase II is selling? I know we will not get a new resort built until SSR (all phases) sells out.

So glad to know that we were able to help them reach the 50% - 60% sold point.

We've never been to WDW - living just up the freeway from the original Park, it never seemed necessary to fly across the country for a dose of Disney Magic, but with the presence of the sales team from Florida now at DL, we were able to talk to a guide [Hi, Tommy!] and see all the wonderful things we'd been missing.

[When you spend time with DVC in California they present you with several FastPasses to make up for the time you've lost in the Park. Instead of using ours, we had them framed as "The World's Most Expensive FastPasses."]

Today we just received our official approval letter in the mail and it feels great!! I know, I know - they'll approve anyone - or nearly, but it still feels good to know that we're real members of DVC now and won't have to give our cards back.

We wanted to experience a bit of everything, so we're booked on a 4-day Wonder cruise in January followed by a few days at OKW before heading back home to plan our next trip! There won't be time to visit all the parks, but that just gives us another reason to hurry back Home. That and possibly another cruise....

Congratulations and welcome home!

Best wishes -

Wow, bought in sight unseen. Good for you!!!! Don't think you'll regret it after visiting. :cool1: :cool1:

We just bought at SSR too, but haven't got our official approval letter or member cards yet. We got our pin numbers for the member site and have been having fun looking around it and calculating points, etc. But we're not taking our first trip until December 2006! It seems like such a long ways away.

ssr should be selling good with the great promotion going on now 8 dollars off a point

I added to the 50-60% too! I took the tour and that was it for me :) It is a beautiful resort and it really isn't finished yet, so I think that it will increase in popularity as it matures and more people see it. They need to finish it so they can build another one! lol

For any of you who've bought but haven't been to SSR yet, you will be SO HAPPY that you made this investment! Hubby and I bought into SSR sight unseen while on a Disney cruise... visited about 6 months later (right before grand opening), and were just floored that the place was so beautiful! My Mom has a timeshare in Lake Buena Vista--about 5 minutes away from SSR and the Downtown Disney area. Though her resort is listed as a 5-star resort, I have to say, sadly, that her place is a dump compared to OUR 5-star resort. And what we paid for our points buys nearly 3 weeks for the same "week" she has hers. She came to spend a 4-day weekend in it with us last year, and was almost in tears. She couldn't believe what we got for our money, has listed her timeshare for sale, and plans to buy into DVC. The best investment we ever made! (By the way, our only displeasure with SSR is the lack of a sit-down restaurant, which I hear has become a hot topic and might actually occur during a later phase... not sure. Keep in mind, though, that there are about 20 outstanding restaurants that are just an enjoyable, short boat-ride away from the resort. If you don't want to wait for the boat, you can drive over to Downtown Disney in about 5 minutes--no problem!)

Congratulations and welcome home! :wave2: We, too, bought sight unseen into SSR in April. We went to OKW in Sept "to try it out" and really liked it.
We visited SSR while there and couldn't believe how big it will be when all of the phases are complete! :earseek:

As for the Disney Wonder cruise, you will absolutely love it! :cheer2: :cheer2: We took our first cruise in 2002 (just DH and I) and then in 2003 we took the whole family on the Disney Magic for a week! Have a wonderful time making Disney memories! ::MickeyMo

Here is an excerpt from another thread talking about a sit-down restauant at SSR. "The Turf Club at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will become the Turf Club Bar and Grill on November 1st. With the name change will come an expanded menu. The Bar and Grill will serve signature drinks, sandwiches and other American favorites. Seating will be both inside and outside with table service for lunch and dinner. Construction on the dining area will begin in November with a Summer 2006 opening. While under contruction, the current dining area will remain open." This will definitely be a welcome addition.

ssr should be really selling good with the 15 percent off for current members and people they refer. you must buy 120 points to get the 15 percent off which takes it down to 83.30 a point. just got 175 points today. my guide told me they should be sending papers in the mail to all members about this great deal.

My guide called today and said everything went through now just waiting on official papers. Hard part over. I was shocked at how fast it went. I made my down payment on the 5th of Oct, recieved papers to sign for contract on 7th and sent back the 12th and got word today EVERYTHING approved...done :cheer2: . Can wait for next vaction. Never been to SSR. I have only seen from the outside when we vacationed a WDW in Sept....was automatically hooked. My child loved it.
