How's early March?

My husband has a work conference at WDW March 3-7... so my daughter and I are plotting how to tag along! He can extend his stay by a few days at the beginning or end of the trip, so we'll either join him before (2/28 - 3/4) or after (3/7-3/11) so my daughter only misses two days of school. Anyone have advice regarding crowds? Will crowds be a lot better the first week? I am worried that Spring Break will affect our trip by 3/7.

Also, how's the weather? Looks like we'd have to prepare for just about anything!

Any advice would be appreciated!

that week was awesome this year. as long as it's earlier than Spring Breaks, it's great.

I went down for a long weekend this past early March for DAH event and it was in the mid 40's that night but during the day was nice and 60's. But yes, be prepared for hot and cold.

I would go before rather than after the conference. I know Disney isn't too popular with college kids for spring break but many colleges in the NE have March 9-17 as their break. Our friends in Florida schools are closed that same week.

Ontario spring break is March 9-17, too. Someone told me Texas gets the same dates, but I'm not sure. Anyway, a lot of Canadians choose WDW as their winter getaway during March. If I had a choice, I'd do the "before" days, rather than the "after". That said, the weather will likely be better in the second week of March than the last week of Feb. Right now, Touring Plans crowd levels don't look too bad for either set of days, but that's probably going to change in the coming months.

We have gone at that time of year the last 3 years and absolutely love it! We lucked out with 80's when we were there this year. I know the week after, around March 8, it cooled down a bit. We've never experienced any rain at that time of year either. I usually bring a light jacket in the morning and wear a t shirt under it with shorts. The crowds are fantastic! The only thing I'll mention is Contest of the Champions is the first weekend in March so you will probably see large groups of dancers in MK and at some of the resorts. Like a PP mentioned Mardi Gras is March 5 so I would do the time before instead of after to try and avoid those crowds. Have fun!
