Howard Johnson Maingate West

I have booked to stay at the Howard Johnson Maingate West in Oct for 3 weeks. Anybody stayed there. And what are the good points or bad points if any.

hi, unfortunately i do not remember which hj we stayed at... but... the addy is 4985 west highway 192, kissimeewe unexpectedly had a one nite stay in hotel.... we chose the hj, because while drivind around, reading my guide book, it descreibed it as having child themed rooms....pool, etc..

the room had a full size bed, partial wall partion, twin bed w/trundle.... in the twin bed area was the "themed area" not anything too exciting, but the pool was ok, the room was ok... only ran us 59+ tax, so i cant complain...

The HJ I am booked into is 8660 west Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.

I stayed there a couple of years ago and it was my 1st time to WDW and I took my then 3 yr DD. I arrived on a Wednesday and used my debit card to pay. The next day I left the hotel and went out to the parks. While out I checked my balance on my card and it was $600 TAKEN OUT instead of the $300 they were suppose to. Since I didn't take there number with me to the park, I had to wait until I got back. I spoke to a manager who assured it would be taken care of in the morning b/c that extra $300 was my spending money. The next morning before I got on the shuttle, I went to be sure it would be fixed and got another manager who had no clue what I was talking about. After explaining to him, he told me he'd fix it. All day at the park, I checked the balance and no increase of $300. I did call the hotel this day b/c I brought the # with me. I was put on hold, hung up on and finally I get back late at night to be told I gave them the wrong #(not true) and that they couldn't fix it until Monday. Now 1st time to WDW, wanting everything I see (and my daughter too) but was $300 short out of my budget so had to concentrate strictly on eating. Monday we get back on the train for home. I checked the balance, still hadn't posted $300. I arrive home and check the ATM and there it was. Ruined my 1st vacation. Since dealing with them, I pay for all my hotels with cash and reserve my rooms with an old cc. that # no longer works.

Just be careful.
