What is the youngest age of children you have ever taken on a cruise? :boat: My DS will be 4 yrs in May and DD is 14 months now. We were thinking of going on a cruise this fall or winter '06 (kids will be 4.5 and 2 yrs). We watched the DCL planning video and I saw maybe two kids in the video that appearead to be under 4. This makes me nervous. Are they trying to tell us this isn't a good idea with kids so young? DH and I really want to go but can't leave the kids behind(no one to stay with). We are a DisNuts family all around and I am sure the kids would like it but I'm just not sure. :scared:

Certainly don't leave your kids behind. It will be the most fun you have as a family! Our very first cruise our kids were 9, 7, 4, and 13 weeks. we loved it so much we booked another cruise for 6 months later. We are hooked! Our youngest is now 2 1/2 and he has been on 4 cruises. Sad. Took me 34 years! It was a bit harder with a toddler as he wanted to run around a lot but I took him into the Club and let him play with my supervision, or Grandma's. And he did go to Flounders a few nights while we ate because we like late seating and he was so tired. We go again in 6 months and he will be turning 3 on the ship. I imagine he will be fine then with going to play in the Club if he doesn't make it through dinner. if you are going to book the cruise do it soon, as the prices keep going up up up the closer it gets to the sail date. Let us know if you have any other questions.

We just got back from a cruise with our twin DDs who are 3 1/2. They had a blast and are still talking about the vacation. My only advice for someone with young kids is to make sure to book far enough in advance to get early seating for dinner - unless you have night owls. My DDs are used to going to bed early and we ended up with late seating. We tried to shift their schedule, but it never quite worked out. Everything else was fine and our kids had lots of fun.

I have also read here on the boards that if you want to have a younger one go to Flounders nursery during the cruise, you should have one parent go there first after boarding the ship to sign up because they might fill up.

We cruised with our friends last year and they brought their 6 month old....hardly knew he was there!!!

My Daughter was 10 months old when she went on her first cruise. Our friends had a daughter that was 15 months. They both had a great time, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it agaiN!
