How young was your baby on its first Disney trip?

we brought our first son to wdw when he was 8 months old and brought him back when he was 12 months. we brought the second son to wdw when he was 4 months. our experience was that it was very easy to have the young ones in the parks. bring your own stroller, make sure you have adequate provisions, etc and you'll be fine. the world is very baby friendly. i would not hesitate to take an infant to wdw, as long as you are prepared for it.

The one we had was from Disney, with the water bottle attached. But, I have seen them at places like Walmart and Target. They do have little ones for around $5 that clip on to stuff, very good to have with a little one. I'm not sure about location at Target but at Walmart I saw them around the tool/paint section.

Ok, I currenlty have a 3 month old (actually 14 weeks, but still 3 months, go figure) anyway I only now would feel ready to take her. Mostly for myself and recovery. So I would really say not before 12 weeks.

Due dates are only guesses and you don't know if the baby will be early, late or if there are any complications. What if a C-Section is needed? Some women need more time to recover from delevery then others. (Actually most need more then they can get.) Heck you aren't supost to have sex again until 6 weeks. Instead of a 7 week old you might have a 5 week old. Dr's want to see newborns for every lilttle thing just to be careful. Some baby's are really portable, some are not. No way of telling until the baby is out. Each week really makes a differnce with new borns.

Having said that DD#1 1st trip was at almost 9 months old (and she went 3 more times before she turned 3 years old) and new baby's 1st trip she will be 7 months old.

It might turn out well and a really good trip, but right now there is a lot of unkonwns. 7 weeks might be ok, but pushing it. A few more weeks would be better.

On a side note, VB is great. We went 6 months pregnant and I loved it (so did hubby and DD)

My youngest was 13 months last year when we went to Disneyland. She loved it! She was a bit under the weather, but she sure did love all of the characters, especially Chip and Dale!

She is gonna love Disney World!

We got a clip on fan at Buy Buy Baby and we saw them at Babies R Us and Target. Also, One Step Ahead carries them as well. My daughter was 13 weeks on her 1st trip, 16 weeks on her 2nd trip and 1st Disney cruise, 6 months in Disneyland, and she'll be 9 months when we go again in December. She loved each trip and we all had a great time. And she was a very high need newborn, but no problems there whatsoever.

This past June was our DD first trip to WDW and she was 6 months.

That's the youngest we have taken a child to WDW or DL and it was no problem at all.

In January we are going again and she'll be 14 months old. She is so much more aware of things now and I just can't wait to see her expressions this time around.

DD was 21-months for her first trip. DS turned 15-months on his first trip. Both vacations were during October and were simply wonderful.

Hannah was one day shy of one month old when she visited WDW. We live about 35 minutes away but have stayed overnight for long weekends at least 6 times with her since that first visit. You will just go at the babies pace. THat will be the magic of WDW. I have been a passholder since 1982 but since Hannah's birth, WDW has taken on new meaning for me. (and her daddy!) We just enjoy being at the Happiest Place on Earth with the mostmprecious gift on earth. Take it slow and easy and you will fine, and so will the baby!

I did not do Disney but we did Washington DC (not especially baby friendly) with a 6 week old and everything went fine

Disney has the baby centers (what are they called) where you can nurse and relax. They are wonderful.

I was worried about it a bit, since the youngest my older son had been when we took him was 4 years old, but it was absolutely magical for the baby. He took his first steps on vacation, on one of the playgrounds, trying to get from one equipment to the other, and watching all the other kids running around. He loved the parades, he loved many of the shows, was enthralled with Peter Pan, Dumbo, Small World and Winnie the Pooh. He napped in the stroller, and we took the toddler dinners for him so he could eat whenever he wanted. He did NOT like the water play areas at all. He fell asleep in Haunted Mansion. We also took Grandma, so she was wonderful to stay with him when we needed her for bigger rides. He was portable and happy, and I think it was world's easier than it's going to be this year with him at 2 1/2!
