How young is too young?

I took my little guy when he was just 6 mos (okay so now he is only 18 mos but feels like it was years ago). He was really good and enjoyed himseld, but you have to watch the heat. I stayed in the baby care centers almost half the day. It is just too hot this time of year. I noticed several babies that were beat red and listless due to heat exhaustion. When I mentioned this to a CM she said that every day they have to treat a child due to it. If you have to have them out try early mornings and after 4. Be sure to give them plenty of milk and water. I know that seems like a no brainer but time really does fly by fast in WDW. I would not advise using the baby carriers they are really bad in the heat. The CM I was talking too says that was a big problem because lack of air flow.

Heat aside he loved it! I saw more of the baby care centers than I had wanted to :goodvibes , but hey I was still in WDW!

Hi and welcome to the DIS!!! :wave2:

I think I would have a hard time taking my 6 month old to WDW, and I would also have a hard time leaving her home. This is a tough decision!!!!

Sending you lots of PD :wizard: to make the right decision for you and your family!!!

Take her!!!

I cannot imagine leaving my 6 month old behind. We took DS when he was 5 months and DD was 4 and had a wonderful trip!!!! DS was carried much of the trip in the Baby bjorn carrier by my DH. He just loved looking around at everything and was very content. I nursed him so it was easy to just go to the baby center and feed him. WDW has diaper changing stations in every restroom so that was never a problem.

Taking an infant to WDW I thought was very easy especially one who is too young to be on the move. At that stage they are much more content to be moving around and all the new things to look at is just eye candy for them!!!!

I just treasure all the adorable pictures of infant DS with the family, characters, on rides. :)

Great advice yes it seems obvious but your right time flies and we get distracted by all around us. Anyhow...just curious what time of year were you there? What month? THANKS!!!

We took our little guy at 6 mos the last week of Aug. We went with all of the family ( the in-laws) and some of the kids had to go back to school. We went again last Jan and it was more comfortable.

Tip- Our baby loved to drink water like a big boy from the water bottles. They have the sports bottle screw tops so u can adjust the water to come out in a drizzle.

Good Luck
