We are a family of 6. It limits where we can stay -- two rooms seems like a rip off since we won't be in the room a whole lot.

What will happen if I make a reservation for 4 at a resort then sneak in 6 people.

I'm not sure I can even do it and still have fun but welcome any thoughts!!

Since we have 5 kids, we have been in this dilemma - found that getting a 2 br suite with a pull out couch works great. There are many great places that are cost efficient and close to the parks. I would be uncomfortable taking the "extra 2" into a room for 4. Check out some of the neat places in the area - you'll find plenty at a good rate!

Personally I think it is just up to you.

When we went to a wedding in Minneapolis a few weeks ago we needed two rooms; well it seemed like every combination of adults/children came up with different prices. We got a great rate ot $89.10 so we had to "lie" and say one extra child. I don't really think it's that big of a deal, especially considering that hotels think that you can fit 2 adults into a double bed...I mean its up to you, but I don't think it is wrong.

Purely from the comfort pint of view, I would prefer to look at a 2-br suite somewhere like Caribe Royale, Buena Vista Suites, Homewood, Summerfield or Embassy. They provide so much space for 6 I reckon it is worth paying out that bit more. I guess it depends how long you'll be staying - more than a couple of nights might get VERY cramped in one room, LOL!

Have you considered renting a private pool home? How old are your kids - do they need all the facilities at a hotel?

We have two teenage girls and spending time in one hotel room is not our idea of a vacation! There are some beautiful homes in Kissimmee and our girls have always loved spending time in their own pool. We don't pack many clothes - we just wash every day. So much easier with your own washer and dryer than standing in line for the hotel machines! We usually get a big (5 bed) villa so that everyone gets their own bedroom and bathroom, but even with a smaller one, getting ready in the mornings is easier than it is in a hotel room - I wouldn't envy you with six of you trying to use one bathroom! And much as we love eating out, it can become a bit tedious when it has to be every meal. We eat breakfast most days at the villa, and several other meals during our stay.

You will pay a fraction of the price of a hotel room for a similar standard of accommodation. You will need a car, though.

If you are interested, I can post more detailed information.

Can you say Holiday Inn Family Suites? Free breakfast for everybody, free food for the kids all the time, a great evening programme-bingo, karaoke- for the family, pool side games-shuffleboard and pingpong. And all a mile from the gates! Do a search for HIFS, and you'll see what I mean! or check out this link!

Holiday Inn Family Suites

You'll have more space, the benefits are many, and you don't have to feel that you are "cheating the system".

Oh, and don't forget, on the other side of the coin, 2 rooms at All Stars gives you some privacy and 2 bathrooms.

Whatever you do, I know that you'll have a magical family trip!

More info please.

That sounds great .

Here is our usual agenda.

Plan Man we always try to take breaks from the parks, too, and at HIFS, it is easy to do. If you click on the link in my post above, it will take you to the HIFS website. Lots of info there, and lots on this board as well. (If you click on the search button-and it's working (some moments it doesn't; just try again in a few minutes) you'll find lots of tidbits about HIFS.) If you decide to book it, check into the FL lottery rate ($109) or at valuetrips.com. Also, feel free to post any specific questions that you have because there are a lot of satisfied and repeat HIFS customers here that can answer them.

I would be careful of sneaking in two extra people even if they are children. Most hotels have a standard of 4 people per room because of fire codes. I have known some hotels to ask people to leave or require them to get a 2nd room. They are not being "cheap" or "mean"...it is that they can get fined for not enforcing the code.

I would take the suggestions that some have given you about the kids suites. Usually suites have a larger sq. footage allowing for more people. Good luck in finding a place that suits your needs and fits into your budget.

I have also heard of WDW making people leave if they find more than 4 in a room. There are many off site places that will sleep 6 for great rates. Try hotelkingdom.com They got me a condo in Viatana Villages in march for 89.00 a night and the 7th night free. If you definately want to stay on WDW property, try Fort Wilderness cabins.
