How would you use your EMH at each of the parks?

I'm thinking Tomorrowland, sign up for Jedi Training, Hyperspace Mountain and Star Tours and/or meet and greet with Chewbacca at Disneyland.

As for DCA: I'm thinking Toy Story Mania first then RSR in Carsland? Come back around to Soarin'?

Thanks!

I would do RSR first, then Toy Story. RSR line fills up fast, even during EMH. We always make sure to do Peter Pan during EMH because that line gets very long during the day.

Thanks for the suggestion! We don't usually do PP at all and I had thought to skip it this year since we are also going to WDW in October for a few days. Other than PP, is there anything in Fantasyland you would prioritize over Tomorrowland? I've heard the Seasons of the Force events fill up quickly too.

So, question about RSR vs. Toy Story. I know TS will get a FP at some point this year, but we are going in April and I don't know if they would have it up by then. Does the availability of FP change the calculus at all? I could be by the FP kiosk at park opening to get one for RSR or I could go there first too. Do you think the time difference is a huge one if you don't do it first thing? Thanks!!

#1 arrive at the main entrance gates 30 minutes early. Don't use the Grand California Hotel entrance

At Disneyland focus on the Fantasyland attractions since none of them have FP. You really don't need to worry about Tomorrowland attractions since most of them have FP. The ones that don't can easily be done at night.
Peter Pan should be experienced first, then Dumbo, Toad, Alice, and Matterhorn.

Regards to Jedi Academy and Star Wars pictures, I don't think they open during Early Entry.

For DCA head to Racers first, then Luigi, then Mater's. Before park officially opens ride Toy Story. If done this way you won't need a FP for Toy Story. Once the park opens ride Screamin and the rest of the PP attractions.

What would you recommend for someone who doesn't have MM/EMH priveleges ie. would your plan be the same if hitting DL and DCA opposite of their MM/EMH days? I need a plan for our group. Idea was to hit DCA Thursday & DL Friday? Any advice you could give would be most appreciated!

If you do not have EMH/MM privileges I would skip the park that does if you can.

Disneyland will follow a similar pattern.
Get to the entrance 30 minutes before the park opens.
Once the park opens get as close to the rope drop rope before the park opens on Main Street if Peter Pan is important to you.
When the park opens briskly walk to Peter Pan by going through the castle. If the line is already long ,meaning back through the castle, skip it.
Then ride Alice, then Dumbo, then Toad, then Casey Jr, then the Matterhorn.

For Disney California Adventure
Head to Soarin Around the World and get FP then walk through Grizzly Trail to Paradise Pier
Then ride Toy Story Mania, then Screamin, FunWheel, Goofy, back to Symphony Swings, Jellyfish, and Zephyr. Save Mermaid for later.
Get FP for World of Color, ride Grizzly River, grab FP for Racers, use FP for Soarin.

Thank you for the advice! Thinking of sending our group to ride Toy Story first thing while I get FP's for RSR & then catch up with them. If I miss the first ride try to go again right after if the lines not too long! Thoughts???

My plan at non-EMH DCA plan would be: grab RSR FP, then ride TSMM (twice, if you want) and Screamin'. By that time, your RSR FP window may be open - grab FP for Soarin', ride RSR.

For non-EMH DL, it really depends on what your priorities are. I'd grab FP for HSM, then ride Indy, PotC, and HM. Grab FP for Star Tours (and Buzz since it's right there and disconnected), ride HSM. If you care anything at all about Fantasyland rides, ride them first, THEN grab HSM FP.

Your plan for DCA was what I was planning! As for DL, we plan to do Fantasyland first...specifically PP. Hoping the rain forecasted stays to keep crowds away next Friday... Wanting to do some Fantasyland then take older kids to sign up for Jedi Training Academy & hope we don't miss out! Thoughts??? TIA for the advice. :)

I read on another post that Peter Pan often doesn't open as soon as MM starts due to safety tests, and takes a few extra minutes to get going. What is your experience with this?

From what I read Jedi Training Academy gets booked up quickly. Apparently they book 1/2 the spots during EMH/MM and hold half the spots for regular park hours. So, they do register people during EMH.

This is from the DL website:
  • Please register at the kiosk located outside the exit to Star Wars Launch Bay. If you are unable to locate the registration kiosk, ask a Cast Member for help.
  • Registration begins when Disneyland Park opens for the day–including Extra Magic Hour or Magic Morning.
  • Availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Also, after your window for Soarin' opens, don't get another FP until the RSR return time is after dark. It's a totally different experience at night! With ToT closed, there really isn't another FP priority at DCA, so waiting won't be a problem (unless you're really into Goofy's).
