How would you schedule this trip...adding in KSC and BB now

My DH has decided that he definitely wants to go to Kennedy Space Center and Blizzard Beach for our first trip to Orlando next year (first week of May 2016). I was originally planning 2 MK days, 2 EP days, 1 AK, 1 HS and 1 pool/resort day for our trip. We have 7 full days.

How would you schedule this and squeeze in BB and a day at KSC? We will have a car. Not sure about park hoppers yet (but I'm open to that if it's the best plan). We will be on-site at an Epcot resort.

Thanks!

Are there children involved? What are their ages?

Personally I would do a combined BB/HS day (and get FP for the most popular HS attractions) but it really depends on who is traveling. KSC will be a day by itself.

It really depends on your interests, we always get hoppers and start several days in MK and end them at Epcot, making sure to catch the fireworks at MK one night, possibly after our AK day since it closes early.

How much energy do you have? LOL.

DH took the kids to KSC last year, and he still talks about it. They did lunch with an astronaut, and you would have thought it was the president! If you can handle flexibility in your schedule, you can find out if there is a launch while you are there.

In you situation, I would probably add BB to the resort day, or do BB and then DHS later (with Fantasmic!) Replace one of the MK days with KSC and hop to it after AK. Basically, you aren't going to be able to do everything, so what are the must-do attractions for you? That can help you decide if you need both days at MK vs. Epcot.

You'll love Kennedy Space Center - we've been several times and, during our last visit, we also had lunch with an astronaut. My daughters loved it (of course, they are both engineers with one in aerospace and the other mechanical). Good idea to add BB to the resort day or you could do BB early and MK on a later night.

I agree this is a good plan. Danny

I would say with 9yo, keep the 2 MK full days. That gives you 1 Epcot, 1 KSC, 1 BB, 1 AK, 1 HS. On BB day, could plan to go to park afternoon/evening with FP+. On AK/HS days, rope drop then wing it on how long you stay before hitting the pool in afternoon. Or like someone else said, you can combine BB/HS on one day, depends on what rides are important. You don't really need park hoppers unless you want to end up at Epcot a few evenings. Since it's so cheap to add days to your park tickets (~$10), I would also consider hitting a park on arrival/departure day.

Thanks everyone! I have convinced DD9 that we might skip a few attractions that we have done DOZENS of times at DLR. And I reminded her that we will be able to go to DLR many times in the near future, but that this trip to WDW/Orlando might not happen again for another decade. So we will focus on those things specific to Florida (including KSC and BB) and maybe skip somethings that we can do in DLR. Thanks for all the tips!

If you want to add those two, I'd drop one of your Epcot days. Then I'd split BB and the park that interests you the least (AK or DHS).

If you think you'll need more time at that park, you can also go for a few hours on your pool day. Or go to Epcot for dinner on your pool day.

You could combine Epcot with your BB day too. That would give you 1 1/2 days at Epcot.

All I know is KSC needs its own dedicated day. And depending on ages in your group and group size, you may not get it all done in one day. So it defintely should NOT be combined with any other activity that day, IMO.

I prefer water parks on a single day as well. I pay full admission, I like to maximize what we do.

I would maybe combine AK/HS and consider instead of 2 days each at MK and EPCOT, do 1 day each and split a 3rd day. This will create 2 days in your schedule to accommodate KSC and BB. You might even combine a park evening at MK or EPCOT as needed in your BB day.

So:
1 day MK
1 day EPCOT
1 say Ep/MK split
1 resort day
1 AK/HS day
1 KSC day
1 BB day with possible evening at MK or EPCOT
