How would YOU reward yourself with mini goals (wt loss) ?

I had my hair highlighted when I reached my first 5 pound goal. Beyond that, I haven't done anything. At 25 pounds, which will probably be my goal, I am going to get a new swim suit for the summer, hopefully a tankini.

First of all congratulations on your efforts and good luck.

How about a nice journal and pen so you can keep track of your progress. I was watching Oprah the other day and it was a show where people lost a lot of weight. One of the ladies kept a journal and it was almost like a scapbooking journal, it looked really cool.

If you like Yankee Candles, when you reach 50# you could go on a $50 shopping spree...that would be a great incentive for me!

Best of luck.

I posted this here instead of WISH because I am hoping to get a bunch of answers. I am creating a list of rewards for me as I hit my 5# milestones in wt loss. I have a long way to go, and I know that just loosing the wt will be wonderful, but I want to reward myself in different ways. here are some of my ideas, but I need a few more, I have over 100# to loose, so I would love any and all ideas, ones that I spend $ on, and some that are "free". THANKS!

5# buy My Big Fat Greek Wedding dvd
10# buy passporter
15 ?
20 I have in mind to buy a book

100# a trip to a spa for a massage!

A pair of sexy shoes.

Jewelry, always jewelry. :p You can buy inexpensive pieces of silver or silver and gemstones for small goals and gold pieces for large goals. :) QVC has the best silver in the world! It hardly ever tarnishes. :) Don't buy cheap silver. :)

A Bath and Body works collection - lotion, shampoo, body gel; the whole line. :)

A sexy bra and panty set or sexy nightie. :p ;)

Do you have a hobbie? Something for your hobby that you would never buy yourself? I love to garden. I saw a bronze fountain that I would love to have of a little girl holding an umbrella. The water spills over the umbrella. :)

New makeup from foundation to lipstick.

Expensive perfume that you love but never buy.

:)

I started one of those Italian charm bracelets and for every 10 lbs I get a new charm!
This has been a necessity as well as a treat....but new clothes are a great reward!
How about a manicure?
Or a dance lesson?
Or any kind of lesson for something you have always wanted to do?
A looong phone call to a long distance friend?
Are you crafty? How about that special something for your craft or hobby that has been a "splurge item" and hard to rationalize?
Take a long hike...and enjoy being able to MOVE again!
Something special that "haunts you" from your last Disney trip and you kick yourself for not buying? BUY IT!
Do you drink coffee? Treat yourself to a super nice specialty coffee...or take a friend out for coffee!!
My treat when I reach my goal? A weekend away and a super nice bottle of champagne!!!

Good luck!!!! You can do it!!!!

I like to reward myself with a new work-out outfit, or shoes. Keeps me focused, and I also get the feeling of fitting into something smaller without buying a whole new wardrobe. It also doesn't seem too bad when you have to get rid of it because you need a smaller size!:Pinkbounc

I've just started my health regiment today. I'm starting slow. Today I did Yoga. I like yoga, and used to practice it quite a bit. Since I've stopped and re-started, I've noticed it is not as easy or fun as it used to be. I find I have body in places where there used to be just air! LOL

Good luck!

I don't really have any rewards in mind for 5 or 10 pounds. I'm really bad about buying what I want without it being a reward. I'm very spoiled. This is a great idea, though. I'll have to think of something.

Okay, I thought of something. When I lose 10 more pounds I'm buying a bread maker so I can make some of that low carb bread I keep reading about :)

I'm getting a massage at #20 loss and I'm thinking new tennis shoes and clothes as rewards. How about a new work out video. I hear the FIRM is wonder. I want to loose into onederland so i can get some video workout tapes to go along with my treadmill and spice up my exersize program some. I like getting pedicures and manicures getting my hair done. And most of all shopping. If you have a holiday or birthday coming up you could ask for a gift card to shop with. Or for every lb you loose you could save that amount in $$'s everyweek and then go shopping when you reach a big milestone like 50, 75 or 100#'s. I know how you feel i started out wanting to loose 96 lbs i'm do to 86 to go and it's nice to be able to already see my progress. Reward yourself and feel wonderful about changing your eating habits.

awesome job, tammi.

I bought myself some beginner bellydance tapes for the first 10 lbs because I had always wanted to learn and was too shy to go to a class. I still haven't used them yet (well, once)--shame on me.

I buy books, movies, costume jewelry, anything little thing because I deserve it!

try a rasyberry cream in dark chocolate from bomboy's. they are only 1/2 a point.:Pinkbounc

Hi ourj, welcome to the DIS and WISH. I'm so glad to see you here. I hope you can visit often.

Sounds like you are doing WW, that raspberry cream sounds yummy.

I've been thinking about this for the past couple of days and hope no one minds if I put down my rewards for mini-goals. I figure a small reward (like a CD, perfume, new tennis shoes or a book I've been wanting) for each 5 pound loss and something special at the "milestones" like 25, 50, 75, 100, and in my case 125 :D .

25 pounds - a new charm for my gold charm bracelet
50 pounds - a new bedroom suite for me and hubby ;)
75 pounds - (haven't figured this one out yet)
100 pounds - a trip with my sisters for a long weekend at Portofino Bay (Universal) to celebrate and be pampered
125 pounds - a trip with hubby to Maui

I'm kinda stuck on the 75 pounds one. I have plenty of time to figure this one out. Thanks guys for letting me put my rewards down in writing!

I haven't really thought of rewards, but this is a great thread! Thanks for the ideas!
I have made deals with myself though that I could turn into rewards.....
For one, I decided that I am not buying any new clothes until I can no longer wear my old ones....I already have pants that I have to pin...LOL! DH laughs at me, but I don't want to buy intermediate clothes then fall into the trap of getting too comfortable in them! LOL!!
Next, I am not cutting my hair until I lose at least 30 lbs. DH loves me in short hair (right now it is shoulder length). I decided that I don't know what I will look like thinner and how I will want to wear my hair, so I will let it grow until then! LOL!!! Silly, I know! :)

I better get to work on my goals!
Kamy

At the rate is it taking me to lose even 5 pounds, I think I am going to get myself a new pair of sandals. At 10 pounds I might get some new shorts. At 15 pounds, a pedicure would be nice. 20 is my goal, so a new bikini and lots of other new clothes! :)

25 - computer game
50 - hair cut/color
75 - go to a spa
100 - hopefully a disney cruise, but maybe just a trip somewhere, depending on our budget at that point.
