How would you re-imagine the American Pavilion?

What about a signature restaurant with classic American cuisine; New England Clam Chowda (I’m from RI that’s how we spell Chowda), New York Cheese Cake, Maryland’s Crab Cakes, Boston Baked Beans, Main Blueberry Pie, Philly Chesses Steak , Idaho Baked Potatoes, Louisiana Shrimp, Georgia Pecan Pie, Virginia Baked Ham, Rice-a-Roni The San Fransico Treat and best of all Starbucks Coffee from Seattle. We also could have Barbeque, pulled pork, ribs with rubs and barbeque sauces from all over.

I'm getting hungry reading this post!

Even if it wasn't a Sig, what about a market-type food court (a la Sunshine Seasons in the Land) with stations representing the various regions or categories? I'd add a few to your list too - real NY style pizza or Chicago deep-dish (would be hard to choose), Amish dishes, some down home southern cooking (thinking chicken, cornbread and collards), Napa and Finger Lakes wines, microbrews from all over the country. They could change up the menus periodically to rotate new dishes in and out. Geez, if my Wegmans can do the Market Cafe concept, why can't Disney?

You know it would be easier to move the American Pavilion to The Land. With a couple of changes to Soaring, Sunshine Seasons and Living with the land fits right it.

I love this idea! If this isn't practical, I like the idea of a counter service with much-improved food, including some classic American standing items, and then a couple of rotating items from different regions, maybe depending on the season. Southern food in the summer, New England Clam chowder in the winter.

And yes! American wines and microbrews!

I'd put in a restaurant. I know we already have LTT, but I'd still do it. American food. And I'd include that yummy WDW cornbread and green beans. Mmm.

I'd remove The American Adventure and put in something with film of all the different terrain and foliage in this country. It would be pretty, majestic, fun and be all about the good in America - much like France, China and Canada have. There would be seats.

Although I like the idea of the bowling alley very much, I think the WWoS would be a more appropriate location...or even DTD, if they must. WS just isn't the place for that.

I agree that the food in the American Pavailion has to be changed.....for better food. My last 2 trips, I have bypassed it all together. I've seen the show, and while I enjoyed it, it's not something I "have" to go back and see. However, the food is terrible (IMHO)......I think better quality QS should be served, and I agree with others that a TS should be put in there somewhere....I mean, why not have an American experience that is a sit down place?...have dishes from various areas of America....that would be awesome.....if anyone from Disney is reading these boards...listen up....some of you guests are trying to tell you something......

One of the more popular shows on the "Food Network" is Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives". Give Guy Fieri a shot of creating a mall Food Court type set-up with some (4 or 5) of the best representations of food gems that he has discovered throughout his travels that would best showcase America's Cuisine .

Here's my 2 suggestions....

1. Improve the food, but keep it Counter Service. One of the nice things about the American Adventure pavilion and it's current food offerings is that it's the only place that some parents can find "safe" food for their picky eater kids who don't like trying something new. If just for them (and for my sanity not having to deal with screaming/complaining hungry kids), I wouldn't want to take away their burgers/nuggets/fries. I wouldn't mind some other more regional food showcase type options though for those of us who wouldn't mind trying something different and to help show that America is more than just cheap fast food.

2. Expand the little museum off the the side of the current show's first floor holding area. Unfortunately the American pavilion is kinda suffering from a lack of room to expand due to the neighboring countries, But I could easily see another small wing being able to fit in behind the patio currently used for KIDCOT for a nice display area which could be used to help showcase more of America's more recent history, as well as showcasing some of very diverse regions within the country that tend to get overshadowed or overlooked in the pavilion currently. It also would be something that could easily be updated wit new exhibits over time. (the extra space could also allow for a larger shop than the small trinkets currently available)

Beyond those two things, I wouldn't want to touch the Pavilion's current offerings. I love the American Adventure, fife and Drum corps, and Voices of liberty way too much to ever want them gone.
